I really loved the end of Dalya's Spring. It was so perfect. I laughed, I cried, I felt really good inside. With all of the bad endings of dramas that I have seen, it is nice to see the writers get one right. I will miss Taebong, Dalya and all of the characters. I liked everything about this drama.

IWith all of the bad endings of dramas that I have seen, it is nice to see the writers get one right. I mentioned over in the "spoiler" thread how much I liked this show's final episode. It's tough to tie everything together effectively in just one hour, but indeed, it was beautifully done! This was the best drama series I've seen from KBS in quite a while.

Resident curmudgeon here…
To me, the ending fizzled out, just like the fireworks trailing down from the night sky.
Too much emphasis on all the supporting characters, and no real interplay between Dalja and Taebong until the show was almost over.
I also thought it lost all the momentum built up in the previous episodes with that "meant to be" cop out. If they had any real passion for each other, they both would have revealed themselves at the restaurant… and what was she thinking going on blind dates??!! (Him too!!) And lastly, what happened to Taebong's cell phone when he was chasing her down at the airport and then again on his bike 2 years later?
All that aside, I do think this series was excellent (and one of my favorites) overall. Much better than anticipated from its lackluster beginnings, and Gang_Shin_ja_Shay was brilliant.
I agree with gpaul about missing these characters.

Yes, the ending was very satisfying, as was the Drama overall. Even the over-used flash-forward seemed so natural.
I didn't really have that high of expectations coming into this Drama, but I thought it was one of the best I've seen in a long time. I was like "Oh, Chae Rim? She's just a cute face", but she really brought a lot to the title character.
So much better than to have high expectations, only to be disappointed, like some we've seen.
The supporting cast was wonderful, too; I especially liked the way the office staff would do the "Greek Chorus" thing. I was impressed how the writing constantly twisted and turned the plot, yet avoided feeling contrived.
Even though I recorded the whole thing, I think this might merit a purchase of the DVD set.

I enjoyed this ending, although I would have liked to see more of this show. A few more episodes to see them get back together, open the restaurant and find a new apartment. I'm glad they started off with Taebong recapping how they met, since I had missed episode 1. It was a really good enjoyable show with good supporting cast. It was kind of surprising that no one had left Handa Home Shopping in two years, it must be a good place to work.
Too bad Sunju's daughter looks like Sedo, she will have to spend extra money. that kid is going to be so spoiled!

And recapping all of those great illustrations during the credits with the melodic theme song at the end was a great touch. Great music through the whole dramedy.

It was kind of surprising that no one had left Handa Home Shopping in two years, it must be a good place to work. All of them were a member of Handa Home Shopping for over 10 years, as indicated in the first episode when Dalja first began her job there in her 20's. And since Handa Home Shopping didn't merge, there were no worries of them losing their jobs/positions. If you recall from EP 21, the second to final episode, Grandma placed her trust in Dalja, and TB did the same. Dalja is dedicated to her work. If she promised to do something, she'll get it done, which we've all seen in the incident on New Year's Eve when she took responsibility over the special broadcast when the other team were in an accident, as well as the Valentine's Day incident. So when she agreed to go overseas for two years, it would have been quite unprofessional of her to then later recant all because TB asked her to stay. That's why she made no promises to TB. What do we know of long distance romances? Were TB to have used his cell phone to call DJ when he got to the airport, would she have picked up? She'd know who the caller would be. As for on the streets, 2 years later, if her only contact with TB during those 2 years had only been the 1 postcard, would it seem logical for TB to have used his cell phone to call her? Her number could have changed. What he did was call out to her, and she did look back, only to have the truck coincedentally block their view. Only when TB caught a glimpse of her at the restaurant did he realize/understand the meaning behind "If it's fate? maybe?" as he didn't even believe in a destined/fated man back in EP 3. No matter how he went chasing after DJ on the streets of Seoul, the 2 did not meet face to face, yet when he didn't try, there she was. Brings back themes from EP 3, which I'm sure many viewers might have forgotten. It's important to recall DJ's ending narrating lines for the drama: "As long as one's alive, nothing has ended. There's no conclusion, so there's no happily ever after either. There's just starting every new day together." and the final illustration (well, there was 1 other bonus illustration as well) at the end of the final credits MVing the previous illustrations featured in the drama. I also thought it quite clever of the writer/PD to have used an idea from the J-drama PRIDE, and to have then used the word/mention P.R.I.D.E at the opening scenes of the final episode. TB and DJ would have never associated with each other had it not been for P.R.I.D.E--DJ's! I wonder if we could start a petition to send to KBS Media asking for the release of an official DVD boxset? I haven't seen KBS release a boxset since Hwang Jini (and the set wasn't even subtitled).

Hey rosapip, Perhaps you haven't been told this yet, but there is a pattern to the air times of the dramas (at least the prime time shows). Dramas which air Monday through Thursday will repeat on the following day at about 1pm. The only exception is the Friday-Saturday drama which gets repeated on Mon/Tue mornings around 9:15ish. The really big exception is the Sunday drama (which didn't appear until Seoul 1945 began airing last fall) which now seems to begin airing around 6PM. When a series finishes, there is generally no lag time til the next one begins so, basically, quit watching network TV and just reserve your evenings for KBC. Now that I think about it, sometimes there have been special "behind the scenes" shows which have concluded the run of a series (Hwang Jini, IYSS to mention two) but generally, the hits just keep on coming.
