Well considering im only up to 108 with AZN ill kick off with what i thought was the lowest point being the" Dom Young Chun League "story line was dragged out way to long ,that should have been trimmed down to a more palatable 10/12 episodes thats my only gripe with what has been the best Korean Historical Drama i have seen and the best thing i have watched this year . :)The High points so far were the opening 3 episodes about Ansi fortress ,The fall of Koguryo ,The Gladiatorial combat ,The Human Hunt ,The death of DJY's mom (not a high point but incredibly moving ),When DJY tricks Xue Rengui with the Gogoryeon villagers using the torches ,Geumlan fighting the Tang Warriors ,Xue and his feather duster ,Wu Zetian ,Those great "Blasted Bastard" moments ,and probably the best episode i have watched so far 107 where DJY retakes Ansi (despite a Gogoryeon Villagers fake mustache peeling off as they cheer DJY ) ;D ;D ;D

It's early days for us here in NE PA (Bu Kiwon going nutso all over the place) but when I first saw this drama, I thought all the battle scenes would turn me off. Now I find I like them best, the leaping and grunting and flying swords. They are wonderfully staged. I wish there were more. What I don't like are the tricks, ie, DJY raising his sword over sleeping Bu Kiwon's head, fade out, next episode and it never happens! It seems the bad guys go on forever and ever and I want to see them get it (not Xue Rengui though, he's lovable meanie.)

Low point HAD been the Chulin-DJY romance, but NOW (ep. 115-116) it looks like it actually pays off...it's not a spoiler cuz we ain't done yet, and i ain't tellin (at least in this thread) what's happening...

I absolutely love this drama. I wish it could go on forever. Don't really like the torture scenes. I leave the room. The head in a box thing is yucky too, but basically I don't want it to end.

I have two all time favorite parts, but I'm afraid I'll spoil it for you East Coast guys if either or both haven't aired yet there.

Funny thing about spoilers: they don't bother me as much as I thought. They're great if you miss an episode and if I find out somebody gets married or killed that I didn't expect, I might go "Oh ##**!!" for a sec but then there's so much else going on to keep me hooked.

;D ;D Torture scenes are hilarious (dont take this the wrong way )one minute people are beaten ,branded and having the legs crushed ,next scene they are all healthy and up and running .anyway the Music is a high point its a great score "Jumong"was a classic example of how a mundane score can deaden the impact .

I never saw Jumong. Is it as good as they say? (story, acting, scenery) As good as DJY? Jumong was broadcast on my local station before I became a K-drama addict and I don't know if they're going to repeat it. The DVD set is $$$, even used.

In all honesty i dont think Jumong is even in the same ballpark as DJY however there are selected episodes that are great but overall it is inconsistant and drags in many area's a much better choice for you would be E

Sorry slip of the finger there anyway Emperor Of The Sea which stars Choi soo Jong (DJY )and Song Il Guk (Jumong )set in the Silla dynasty it covers the life and death of the pirate magnate Chang Po Go (Jang Bogo ).This drama is much closer to DJY (inc the star of course )in style and content (and a great musical score )think DJY goes to sea and founds an island kingdom .There is a 19 disc dvd box of this from Taiwan with decent subtitles for once (unlike Conspiracy in the Court with the classic line "you go box Fairy in the palace that guy give you drug soup ")and its widescreen unlike the tv broadcast .I found a copy in chinatown with for 23 bucks ,but you can find it on E Bay or Dim Sun DVD also the KBS E Store has it for 6 bucks per episode.

Many many thanks, DMC! I would have hated to spring for Jumong and be disappointed. We often hang out in Chinatown (NYC) and I will give Emperor a shot and hunt around the other sites as well. I LOVE this fan-chat! Learning soo much I never knew about K-drama.

It was Emperor that really got me into these Saeguk (hope i spelled that right )dramas and really from the few that i have watched Emperor was the best until DJY came along ,Jumong in about a year you will be able to probably find cheap copys of it ,its not worth paying 300 plus for it at all .

I guess my best was when DJY and the princess got together. I guess I am a romantic at heart. The Worst is when the show is over.
