So time has gone by. Xue is a "stinky farmer" as he says. White hair. Li Kaigu has suddenly grown facial hair. Maybe it will cover his Elvis smirk. But some of the other people haven't aged at all. I found it amusing.
Goem looked interesting. At first viewing his eyes appeared so huge! Like some character toy I can't remember the name of. ;D

The Korean fans of this drama like to call Xue Rengui as 'zombie' because Xue never even lives up to that age.

Good grief did #82 give me a headache. They left a LOT of loose ends just hanging there and blew right ahead, was it twelve years? The empress had ordered Xue to go out and bring back DJY and restore him to service; Sukyoung was going to have a baby; we still don't know who the poisoner was; and Shin suddenly was sneaking around giving orders behind his master's back. (Interesting scene Monday (#81) when he realized he'd been outfoxed and he lost his temper—we really saw a flash of ego that we hadn't seen before.) But we're supposed to forget all of that stuff and whatever else there was, and just jump ahead. Didn't like that; it was all too abrupt. Especially with thirty extra episodes to fill, it would have been nice to finish those stories and then show us some of the important events that were only mentioned in that one-minute summary.
And Gaepilsamun? The guy gets shafted big-time by DJY twice, wants to kill him, and then all of a sudden is jumping like a lapdog to serve under him without question? Ugh.
On the other hand, at least this jumping-ahead kind of cleans the slate, and it looks like things might get back a little closer to real history now and back to the meat of the story, so that would be good. I did like the fact that the Khitans have finally realized they're not going to be given Yingzhou. (How long did that take. Not exactly a bunch of rocket scientists.) And I also liked the scene where those seven tribes were strongarmed into declaring loyalty to DJY. It wasn't the most noble way of winning their alliance, but it was good that the episode portrayed it that way rather than coming up with some side-story just to make the Goguryeans look better. It seemed more realistic, although one of our history experts might correct me on that.
And you're right BD, some more of that selective aging! Chulin hasn't aged a day. And Xue Rengui has traded the steamed buns for vegetable dumplings! (Maybe that's how he did it, truth!)

The SWORD has the same steely unflinching stare as DJY. I wondered if that was why Chulin had that smile on her face after he told the new Chief that his troops must be inspected.
I don't mind that they skipped ahead since I was starting to lose interest. I do wonder about Sukyoung's child. How old will he be when we see him? DJY seemed happy to learn that she was having his baby but then he went away again.

Amazing how the episode last night (#82?) fast forward to several years. I was just getting over the fact that last week episode DJY and Sukyong got married and then this week she said she is with a child (meaning she is pregnant with DJY baby). I'm getting blown away by the turn of events. Yeah I would like to know how old their baby is now after years had passed. It's good that Li Kaigu has now grown some hair on his face. I almost didn't recognize him. I can't stand everytime he's got that smirk on his face. His looks now hide that smirkiness which is good. Is this drama nearing it's end?. Is that why they are jumping storylines?

Why is this considered a "Spoiler" thread? If I'm going to write a spoiler, I'd put it in the designated thread.

The title is great , un-spoilerific-- but for those who haven't seen episode 82 (like myself), we suddenly get info that we might not be ready for (i clicked off the thread myslf so i wouldn't be spoiled).
Generally it's a good idea to add the episode # on the top of the message (or the date it was first broadcast), so someone who hasn't seen it yet . That would also be helpful for those watching it on AZN or the East Coast, so they can pick up on discussions we have long forgotten. (more for their reference rather than spoiling them)
The Spoiler thread is for info that might be ahead of Chicago (like when "truth" told us that DJY wouldn't be marrying Chulin, but told us months before we knew that to be true in CHicago)...also a good place if you can't remember what episode it is.
Please feel free to PM me if i've missed a thread...

I vote against all these ep numbers and please spell "spoiler" right if you have to add that.
This is the Chicago board. If I haven't seen an episode yet, I wait til I have, and then read the postings, and I know enough to stay away from the Spoiler thread. If people from another part of the country want to read this, fine, but they do so at their own risk. I think that's fair enough without special warnings everywhere.
I didn't read Bungalow's post right away because of the "spoiler" tag. Now that I see the "spoiler" was a "false alarm", I'm put off by that. I think she may have been as well, and justifiably so.
I like the way it was before all this "labeling" started. Less meddling the better.

Zorro, i know[/b[] it's the Chicago board...but Chicago's airings are strange. There are the 8pm evening broadcasts, which will run into other popular shows this fall (such as Heroes & 24), and the repeats are at ~ 1pm the following day, usually when people work. So it may be a few days before some Chicago people see the episode.
Also, there are Chicago people who are watching this on AZN, which is several episodes behind (and aren't willing to go through all the work to add a switch & attenna).
i certainly don't want to stop the posts, or even edit them. i'm just looking out for Chicagoans who haven't seen the episode (i still haven't), so they can enjoy the episode first, and then comment & hear others' opinions. There weren't any previews for the next episode , and 81 was relatively lackluster, so i didn't expect to see anything significant for 82.
It's pretty easy to add the episode # (the two digits somewhere in the subject will suffice) a number. If you miss the ep. # (as i have a few times), the date will be fine too.
If you're talking about real history or general things (like the Chulin-DJY-Sukyoung triangle), then it's not necessary at all.
As for non- Chicagoans...i think it's helpful for them, as this board might still have some life after broadcast Chicago is done (like the Dae Jang Geum board, for example). They're being spoiled is a secondary concern for me , but hope it would appeal to some.

Don't read the posts until after you see the episodes. Seems a lot simpler to me than messing with everyone's threads because *they* haven't seen it yet. But I suppose that's a secondary concern of yours as well.

I thought IYSS because my bf remembered him and he has only seen YSS and DJG. He may have seen a couple of AOW and that's where his memory came from.

Episode numbers are helpful to me in referring back to past episodes and trying to keep track of what happened when. And there are non-local members like mikey and truth who post good stuff and probably rely on the numbers so I don't mind accommodating them in the least. But I completely agree that this is the Chicago board and once an episode airs on Ch41, it's fair game here and no longer a "spoiler." The important use of the term "spoiler" is to flag material that hasn't aired in Chicago yet. Even with the best of intentions, expanding the definition will cause confusion and do more harm than good. Since all posts are dated and timed (even without an episode number), if someone time-shifts an episode they can either stay off the board until they watch it, or else simply avoid reading anything posted after the broadcast.
