I was wondering how Mimosa was going to get Jungsang and his buddies out of Tang. Gulsabiwu was thunderstruck when Mimosa admitted that he wasn't sure if his strategy was going to work. For once, Mimosa appeared human, albeit unruffled.
It was great to see that Jungsang wasn't going to sit around and wait to be rescued. His workout in Xue's practise area was to get ready. And only moments before he agreed with Xue Rengui that they should fight with genuine swords from time to time. It was obvious from Xue's bug-eyed expression ending the episode that he had no idea the match would happen so soon.
Mimosa's comment to Xue that he (Xue) would be held responsible for Joyoung's flight and that he should save himself was farsighted. I think though, that the King is going to kick off and that the Queen will be so busy seizing power that the Goguryeons are going to be able to slip out of there without too much trouble.
The actor who plays Xue is so wonderful! The series of momentary expressions passing over his face as Jungsang held his sword to his throat were superb! Anger, incredulity, disappointment, surprise----and hurt! "You betrayed me!"
Well, my man, that's what you get for underestimating an opponent as formidable as Jungsang! ;D

It seemed that Xue really had hoped that he and DJS could live out the rest of their days as friends. Xue really admires DJS and thoroughly enjoyed the wooden "swordfighting" match he had with him. I think Xue would've been perfectly happy if they could've been "next door neighbors". I suppose his little daydream sort of exploded in his face when DJS put that sword to his neck. I swear, for a moment it looked like Xue could've cried!
