Pip, I heartily suggest you watch the first epidodes on AZN. The first couple episodes are mostly about what happened in Gorguryeo/Tang during the war that went on before DJY's birth. Afterwards, it mostly shows DJY's early life---he has a pretty interesting beginning. I think it's worth seeing, even if you do have to jump back-and-forth twenty-five years or so, if you watch both the early eps. and the "current" eps.

And thanks, SoapyGrams for the excellent medical information about Lurch's medical condition! It is to this actor's credit that he is able to not only live with his condition but use it to not only make a living but create such a memorable performance! God bless him. All the best to him and no disrespect intended.

Hearty thanks to those who told me about AZN's DJY showing. I have broadcast TV (no cable or satellite), so I can't see it, though - - darn! But it was kind of you folks to tell me about it.

pip, it was just too similar to what I remember from the Bond films to be a complete coincidence. Especially the way that Wugol was flashing his teeth over and over. Maybe it wasn't planned that way by the writers; maybe it was just the way the actor approached it. There just aren't a lot of acting opportunities for guys that big, so I'm guessing that the actor was/is very familiar with Kiel's Bond scenes.

AJK - - I believe you. I don't remember the scenes with R. Kiel, and you do. Could be you're right that the actor playing Wugol was familiar with RK. It would make sense because there aren't many actors like that, so RK would be memorable to another actor with acromegaly.
