So what is Gulsabiwu planning to do? After being told that Chulin is carrying DJY's baby, he decides to stay at the protectorate after all. Now, I know that he is staying for Chulin and the baby's benefit, but what is he going to do? He pledged loyalty to Rengui, but I find it very hard to believe that he is really going to go through with it. So what? Is he going to get on "FeatherDuster's" good side, so he can have a better opportunity to get Chulin away from there? Is he going to wait until the baby is born, before planning an escape? Or is he staying there simply to protect Chulin and the baby? I simply cannot picture Gulsabiwu standing by "FeatherDuster's" side as his loyal bodyguard...

I felt so bad when DJY saw Gulsabiwu riding next to "Feather Duster". I sure hope he is smart enough to figure out that there are other reasons for his seeming allegiance to Xue Rengel.

I sure hope so, gpaul. We saw Sudol's reaction: "Joyoung, let me kill him! My rage will not subside until he is dead!" As you said, let's just hope that DJY thinks it all through before he does something. But that pained look he got on his face, aww... And Gulsabiwu asking Chulin to allow him to take the baby away after it is born! Isn't that somewhat bold? Even if it is his "brother's" baby, it is Chulin's baby too!

Yes it is Chulin's baby too, but if she keeps it it will be raised as Khitan or even worse, Tang.

I think that is a cultural difference at work. I was told that in Korean culture, children always belong more to the father's family than to the mother's. So maybe G feels like if he takes Joyoung's baby it can be raised as a Goguryean citizen?

That makes sense, badtz. Gulsabiwu probably figures that his duty is to protect that baby, even if it means taking it away and raising it as a Gorguryeon. But still...poor Chulin thinks that DJY is dead, and now she might lose the baby too. It isn't easy for her, that's for sure.

And as wacko as Kaigu has become, he does have a point about the baby growing up to seek revenge on the tribe. Debatable how much merit it has, but it's the old argument about: If you knew a baby would grow up to murder lots of people, would you kill the baby? Especially if they were your own people. But could you really be sure what a baby would do as a grown-up? Probably not, but it's interesting stuff to think about.
This is going to drive him even more wacko. No way he wants that kid to live, but if he even goes near it Chulin will rearrange his face. What a couple.
P.S. Zorro, if you're still out there, how about joining? Miss your posts.

I would just like to tell you that Chulin is not a real character, and nor is this baby.

DJY's son really wasn't a Khitan, this isn't a freaking spoiler, its real history!

DJY's son really wasn't a Khitan, this isn't a freaking spoiler, its real history! Come on truth.... this is NOT a documentary... it's a drama! Real history or not, it's a good story. If you want history, watch the History Channel.

It's nice to be able to tell fact from fiction, but in a drama, sometimes fiction adds a bit of spice to history. It doesn't necessarily have to be completely true, it's a drama. It's entitled to being what it is molded into by the writers, etc. We should objectively watch this drama, and any other historical one that may be brought to us in the future. It's nice just to be able to watch something without constantly having to tie it into reality or in this case, history. A show will always be just that, a SHOW. Getting back on topic: I sure hope so, gpaul. I can't seem to understand how Suldol turned on Biwu almost instantly. I mean, they're supposed to be brothers. They drank each other's blood for crying out loud! How could he be so presumptuous like that? What's worse, is that he said he could not believe Chulin would ever betray DJY but that he wants to go kill "that bastard, Gulsabiwu". I mean, come on. Chulin would be the first person, I think, who would give up on DJY. That just made me mad. And, I'd rather see the baby being raised by Biwu than the Khitan. Rather, Chulin's soon-to-be husband, Lee Haego.
