I found it amazing that the King wasn't killed. So what happened to him in Tang. Was he killed once there? And after the dramatic death scene between Namgeon and his brother Namgeon magically heals and looked as hale and hearty as ever as he was being carted off to Tang! Kinda silly, wasn't it?

And after the dramatic death scene between Namgeon and his brother Namgeon magically heals and looked as hale and hearty as ever as he was being carted off to Tang! Kinda silly, wasn't it? according to records, Namgeon attempted to commit a suicide after Goguryeo had been taken over by Tang but failed and was exiled to middle of nowhere in China. so what they showed on the drama is indeed real, not fictional. (i doubt his emotional reunion with Namseng was real, though.) King Bojang was taken as a war prisoner to Xian(or in Korean, Chang-an), the capital city of Tang China, and later sent to Liadong(or in Korean, Yodong) as he was 'appointed' by the Emperor of Tang as the new 'King of Chosun'.

as soon as he was appointed as the 'king of Chosun', he rebels against China to bring Goguryeo back.
but he failed, captured, and was once again sent to Xian. only this time, he had to spend rest of his life there.
