From listening to my mom because she was born in korea and learned about this man i would pick yi-sun-shin. Someone said that jumon was not real and who ever said that was crazy because he was basically the found of goguryeo and if that person doesn't believe me this is what i found in the encyclopedia........Goryeo-era records indicate Goguryeo was founded in 37 BCE by Jumong, although it probably dates back to the 2nd century BCE, around the time of Gojoseon's fall. Anyways, i pick yi sun-shin

I don’t know nearly enough K-history to make a truly informed choice on this . . . but in the end I voted “Jumong” just to be obstinate. ;D He *did,* after all, establish the original Kokuryeo/Goguryeo. Of course, so much about Jumong is based on legend, so I guess we’ll never know for sure just how great a general he really was (or wasn’t). For those of us fortunate enough to be watching the MBC drama “Jumong,” it’s interesting to watch the founding of Goguryeo in “Jumong,” and then see its collapse 600 years later in “Dae Jo Young.” I have to admit that I ALMOST gave in and voted for Admiral Yi, who is regarded throughout the world as one of history’s two or three greatest admirals, but I figured he’d get plenty of votes without my help.

I don't know much about most of the people, so I'm not going to cast in a vote quite yet. I'm thinking of Jumong, much for the reasons Mikey stated, except I read up on him (No more MBC shows on KBC--- grr). He was a pretty interesting and formidable guy. Now that I'm watching Dae Jo Young, I'd also say Yeon GSM.

Jumong is a great show and he would be a good pick because he did establich goguryeo. But i picked admiral yi for the reason that mikey said.......admiral yi is regarded as one of historys two or three greatest generals.

There are a few that are outstanding, so I need to list them together. Our beloved Admiral Yi, Napoleon,Alexander the Great, George Washington, Admiral Nelson.

Yang Manchun a real great man, Yeon Gaesomun is great too...a little hot-tempered for me... and the other two generals I have, I admit, never heard of. I have to go with YSS. I watched nearly the entire "Immortal Yi Soon Shin" series from beginning to end, and he is the most awesome Korean general that I could ever imagine! I really wish that I could meet him, because he is such an amazing man.

Ulji Mundeok was a pure genius.
He single handedly defeated Sui China's army of 300000 causing Sui to self-destruct.

If you're talking about Korean generals, i have to go with 1.) Yi sun-shin 2.) Kwangaetto 3.) Ulchi Mundok I can't believe you don't have Kwangaetto there. Jumong may have founded Koguryo, but it was Kwangaetto who expanded the territory to it's greatest heights. On second thought, we are talking about the generals we've seen so far in the Korean drama world. And I don't recall Kwangaetto being represented in any of these Koguryo dramas. What a pity....

Tell us about him, Truth! Well, he's the one who made Koguryo a "strong empire" as he conquered Manchuria, win battles against China, defeated the other Korean kingdom Baekjae in a quest for the revenge of his grandfather, whom had been killed during a war against Baekjae, and helped the weakest of all Three Kingdoms, Shilla during a Japanese invasion.

Wow thats ubelievable but i thought that Yi Sun-shin is the one who not only established goguryeo but also made it a strong country. What era was King Kwangaeto Yi Soon Shin got nothing to do with Goguryeo. I don't know what you're talking about. Yi Soon Shin lived during the time of Chosun dynasty which is like 1000 years after Goguryeo's downfall. Even in Chosun period, Yi Soon Shin did not establish Chosun. Chosun was established by Lee Sung Gye. Finally, Yi Soon Shin protected the country from Japan, but he didn't make the country any stronger. Chosun actually got weaker after the Japanese invasion because of all the effort they had put into the war. King Kwangaeto is the greatest conqueror in Korean history and he was the king of Goguryeo. After his conquest of Manchuria, he built a giant monument in current day China(formerly Korean land) that praises how great he was and lists all the mighty things he did, which is still there and is open by the Chinese government for Korean tourists who would gladly pay to visit the site to see it. Now that Jumong is over in Korea, MBC, the station that Jumong was shown, will start 'The Chronicles of the Four Gods and the Great King', or Tae Wang Sa Shin Gi, which pictures the life of King Kwangaeto in early May 2007. However, many people who had seen Jumong, produced by MBC, are worried that 'The Chronicles of the Four Gods and the Great King' will also be a fantasy drama, instead of showing real historical facts about King Kwangaeto. This is turning out to be indeed true as sneak peek of the drama recently aired in MBC, and many 'Lord of the Ring like' armors were seen.
