About Chulin, "I want to be your woman"-sigh, finally! I'm with ya, ginnycat----I guess I'm just a sap for romance.........I loved that scene!! I'm glad they have finally made a commitment to each other (verbally, at least).

Dae's mustache and beard came in literally overnight. It was thinner at the end of ep 41 (the best episode to date!) and then completely filled in at the beginning of ep 42. He looks good either way, but I like it. Good point Gcat… I was wondering myself why the guard was so clueless. Maybe that's all Gulsa needs… a hat. That seems to fool everybody. Did you see the one Namseng had on?? LOL Chulin looked great with no hat and long braids. Her face looks softer and more relaxed now that she's with DJ. Happy for her.

And(this is totally shallow, but bear with me) DJY looks so much more handsome and manly with the facial hair! ;D He does, very much so; he just looks so much better. I think he looked alright clean-shaven, but not all that handsome. He didn't look bad, but he just looked like your typical rural Gorguryeon (at least to me). Now he looks dashingly handsome, lol. It's amazing what a little hair does to a man's face !

Lol, but it did pop up over-night. I was hoping they'd give it some time before they made drastic changes to his facial appearence. He looked like a bit of kid clean-shaven. But a beard makes him look dissolutioned as well.

Yes she did pick a side (for now), and yes they do make an interesting couple. She always had that weird vibe about her, with the eyeballs bouncing back and forth. It was always kind of annoying before, but now it may work better—like you never know when she may come up with some idea or advice that will help DJY. Lots of credibility to be repaired going back a long ways in the series, but maybe she’ll become a better character in the new situation. It’s a good start, anyway.
But the “I want to be your woman” scene, I thought it totally fell flat. Except for a hint of a tear from her, it seemed almost robotic. You’d certainly expect to see just a little bit more evidence of joy or passion or happiness of some sort. I actually felt sorry for them, because it felt like they were both so beaten down by everything else that they had nothing left for each other. I don’t think that’s what they were going for, though, I think it was just a weak scene. But obviously everybody else liked it a lot and would disagree with me, so I guess the cheese stands alone on this one.

I liked the scene, myself, but I did feel like there was something missing. Like you said...a little joy or passion. It was just really quiet, and also lacked the lessening of tension that I though there would be. It was almost like neither DJY or Chulin really believed it was true, and that it wasn't really going to be that way. A little smile, a little tear...and it was over. It was, overall, a fairly good scene, but I had hoped for just a little more.

Chulin maybe DJY's woman in the drama
but in real life the actor who plays Chulin has recently started dating the famous Korean pop-star Sung Shi Kyung, who has earned the nicknames of 'Emperor of Ballad' and 'Butter Boy' because of his love songs

I used to get her confused with Uhm Jung Hwa from Wife. They look so much alike, except UJH is older by a few years. Never heard of Sung Shi Kyung but happy for her nonetheless!

I meant to respond to Truth but accidentally hit reply instead of preview. Chulin maybe DJY's woman in the drama but in real life the actor who plays Chulin has recently started dating the famous Korean pop-star Sung Shi Kyung I thought Sung Shi Kyung was dating Jung Sun Hee.

Really? I don't see it. Park Ye Jin Uhm Jung Hwa Actually SIU, in your pictures it makes it even harder to distinguish the two! LOL. They don't look 100% alike, but they do have the some of the same facial features. Either way, they're both pretty women.

So all of a sudden they’re engaged? That’s not a spoiler because we never saw any such thing happen. Didn’t anybody else find that weird? (I guess DJY is the one guilty of the spoiler!) First I wondered if it might be a mis-translation in the subtitle, but the subtitles have been excellent so I doubt it. You’d think that if they’re going to show him sucking out her snakebite venom, and all of the silliness that followed it, they’d give us a little bit of substance about them actually getting engaged. Very strange.

I don't know, I found that off too. I'm guessing that as soon as she professed herself to be his woman, that makes her engaged to him?
But, the real problem is her new hairstyle. It's sort of like Sa Bu Gu's.

I understood it as he was going to tell his father that they were engaged, and I think when he said that to Chulin, it was news to her too.
The weird part for me was the guy at the table who decided to butt in and declare DJ should be getting married before he missed his chance. That came out of nowhere.
Her hairstyle is fine, pretty in fact in long braids. They hide it with those giant headbands so yeah, it makes her look mannish, but Sa Bugu?? LOL

Long braids I like on her, but there's this wig that she wears that looks like Sa Bugu's. Look for it in the next episode.
