In one episode, I had to laugh. Whenever there was a scene involving the gangsters, you heard the theme from 'The Godfather'. Ya gotta love it!

why aren't these korean gangsters on kbs ever shown to be what they are? I mean, the gangsters from all the other shows I've watched seem so affectionate and hilarious that it takes away from their whole bad@$$ image. GANGSTERS = BAD, not FUNNY.

I agree, Bae, for the most part, but I thought the ones on Goodbye Solo were very well done. They were humans, but they had a whole missing part of their moral "personalities,' and that made them more scary and creepy to me.

As for me, I’m starting to get tired of all this Korean gangster stuff. “Great Expectations” ended yesterday on TAN, and the first episode of the show replacing it (“Invisible Man”) was all about a cop taking on a Korean gang . . . And, last night was the first episode of a new drama (“Over the Rainbow”) on MBC. It was about a high-school student tied up in (you guessed it) a Korean gang. It reminds me a bit of the K-drama scene of two years ago, when every K-drama had to have someone die of cancer. Now, I guess, the big thing is gangsters. Yeesh . . .

You can also add SBS Heaven's Tree and MBC One Fine Day to that list.

I know I have mention that I love this show before, but watching it last night, I finally figured it out why. It's not just the adorable little munchkins that we had seen before in previous shows, but I like the fact both the leading female and male characters have their ex's come back to twist their emotions. Even though Mr Gangster doesn't realized his emotions for Ms Yu yet, in due time he will. And of course, he can't forget his new found emotion for his first love- Beanhead's mom. As for Ms Yu's emotions, I think she picks a fight with Mr. Gangster, because she is in like (and I wouldn't say "love" at this point of relationship.), and to get some attention from him, too.

I watched the second episode last night and this morning, gasping with laughter (I missed ep.1). I almost tuned out because of the gangsters (TIRED OF IT), but the kids make up for it. I keep repeating stuff the kids say to Mr. Gang ("You stupid man! Dinosaurs died out in the Ice Age! How could a Tyranosaurus Rex come to my house!")--poor Bob. Laugh, laugh, laugh. I think I'll keep watching for awhile.

I've put time and episode length info in the beginning of this thread, in my original post.

Has anyone found out what show will replace Great Expectations? I've checked the other boards also, but no one seems to be saying anything. Thanks

Well, here are the possibilities for KBS, according to KWiz's Drama List: Dae JoYoung, Hwang Jin-i, and Invisible Man (most likely, seeing our dry period for historical dramas). It replaced Great Expectations in Hawaii so we can expect this one to air tomorrow.
