Yun-hu is calling Guk-hwa "Yabong". This is a slang formation amongst young Koreans: putting "ong" at the end of words to make them sound 'cute', in this case 'Yabo' ('Honey').
Nari gives a present of taffy to Kwang-man before his big cooking exam. This is a traditional good luck gift to someone taking a test, with the idea that the sticky candy will 'help the answers stick in your mind'.

So, "Yabo" = "Honey"
and "Yabong" (more or less) = "Honey Pie??" ;D
Thanks, Soju! I learn something new every day!

Thanks, Soju. What is this test Gwangman is taking, by the way?

Yes, but is it for the class he's taking, or is it some kind of qualification, like to be a licensed chef? Seems like they just started talking about this test with no explanation. Thanks.

I thought that there was an "-ng" sound after the "yabo" i'm used to hearing. It was cute seeing her respond postively for a change as opposed to calling him a child and dismissing him, even if he is a bit childish. What I'd really like to know is how she got into the dresser. It's like she opened the door and thrust herself into hiding... WEIRD.
I didn't even know he took a test! Then again, I don't follow the show anymore---just tune in at random times and find myself confused but not interested to fill in the blanks. I think it's a test for his class. He's not trained enough to take a test to be allowed to become a chef.

But she wanted to study instead of fooling around, so that wasn't a good way to fight him off.

That's cool about the taffy.
And "Yabong" sure sounds better than "Farm Girlong", or for that matter, shmoopie (shmoopong?)
So does that mean Yunjeong and Ugyeong are Yunjepie and Ugyepie?
Everybody is getting sickeningly sweet lately. No wonder the mothers have headaches.

Wasn't it funny when Yunhu's father tried "Yobong" on for size himself last night, and gave both himself and his wife the creeps?

Wasn't it funny when Yunhu's father tried "Yobong" on for size himself last night, and gave both himself and his wife the creeps? He hasn't been barking lately - more relaxed and thoughtful, now even playful. Even if it creeps them out. But the wife is stubborn. She's so determined to dislike Gukwa, even tho GW saved her from embarrassment. (I didn't get what the problem with her book was, tho.)

Everyone is being so nicey-nice (and I like that). The way things are going, I feel like this show is going to end today 4/6--do we know when it's supposed to be over?
Ginny, all I can figure with the book is that she made such a big deal in the book pretending that the only important thing about her children's marriages was that they love the person, but her matchmaker comes out and says that she actually arranged more than 20 blind dates for her children. I suppose that is a clear indication to some people that she really was particular whom her children married, but I think it's just much ado about nothing.
Don't you love this publishing world we see in the K-dramas? You just give someone a call and ask them to write a book--they take a week or so to write it--and you type it up and print it immediately. Whaaa??

Today (Friday) is indeed the final episode. Presumably, 'As Big as Heaven and Earth' will begin Monday.
