Just so you guys know, the auditorium isn't a typical church deal with pews - it's individual, moveavble seating. We can have tables for food, even banguet style if we want. We use this room for super bowl parties, etc. At any rate, someone name a place. I think watching the last episode together is a cool idea. Also, was I correct in reading another thread that they won't be re-running the series in Chicago?

Well i guess i'm not going then. Tell ya what --- i'll act obnoxious & goofy & we can pretend we're drunk! Did you make it to the Chciago Drama fan gathering? It was alcohol-free & turned out pretty well. How about this --- if the gathering is boring, i'll refund your admission fee!

KDD, Channel 28 doesn't rerun any of their dramas when they're over. However, there are lots of fans who tape them, so something could be worked out if you would like to fill in the gaps of what you've missed. Anyway, I have the auditorium reserved if you guys decide to take us up on the offer. 8:00 pm, October 18. I'll be there early. There are a couple of good pizza places and a good chinese place nearby that we could order from. I'll provide ice and plenty of soft-drinks - even some diet for those who can't handle the real stuff. The address is 5318 W. Diversey Avenue. Phone is 773-427-9300. Remember, it's free! If you decide something else, it's no problem. That's a generous offer, Kyung Dae Doo. Thank you! Is the reception for Channel 28 pretty good there? Also, what time were you thinking of starting? Joanie and I wouldn't mind watching the first episode of AOW beforehand (we agree with you ID, you youngster - the show started out very strongly), though I can't seem to find that elusive first tape yet. JP, you know where your copy is? If we start early enough, we could also watch My Lovely Family(Precious Child) at 6. It's actually a pretty entertaining daily drama and the only non-historical drama that we've really liked so far. But we'll go with whatever the general consensus is. Unless anyone has a better idea, it sounds like a really good place to watch the last episode - we look forward to it!

Count me in. Are we supposed to bring anything?
This is probably my first post. (forgot) I signed up a while back, but could never figure the password thing out, so I just lurked. However, I figured this was worth signing up again for, so here I am. Looking forward to meeting some of you and figuring out what comes next.

I'll see if the other half wants to attend. Reception should be OK. That is not too far from my house and our reception is pretty decent. As JP pointed out, the last gatherings were alcohol free and were really fun. It nice to remember what you did and not wonder if you embarrassed yourself. Besides it's on a Monday.

Reception is quite good - as good as 5 or 7 and better than channel 2. Never been able to get totally clear on channel 2. But 28 is very good. Anyway, I'll make sure the doors are open a little before 6 pm. We can watch whatever you guys bring or whatever is on. I don't have any tapes at all of AOW. I'll find menus of the nearby restaurants and pizza joints and we can figure out what to order in way before AOW starts at 8. And we can stay as late as we need to also. No one has to bring anything, but if anyone knows how to make "kimche" (sp?) they could bring that. I've only had it once. And I guess whatever we order out for we can just split the bill? Remember, it's at 5318 W. Diversey. They have a parking lot on the west side of the building. The gates will be open, so come on in!

Mora!! acting obnoxious & goofy is different from being actually obnoxious & goofy. Did Archfiend not drink at his celebrations? did CCH not drink at his banguets? I think it would be fittting to be served wine for such a celebration.

what are you talking about? what i meant was that Samuel Adams is made in America {By the Boston Beer Company} Guinness is an Irish Stout. Therefore, it's really expensive. And you can't trust the bottle, as you might be purchasing an ancient beer, rather than a fresh one. Any liquer store owner could wipe the dust of a ten year old bottle of Guiness, and sell it likes it's new. Jim Koch, owner of the Boston Beer, of course, invented the idea of "freshness dating" This means that by looking at a bottle of Sam Adams, you can tell if it's fresh enough to drink. Also, Boston Beer, offers some 17 varieties of Sam Adams. I have tried everyone I know of, {we have a nice liquer store up here}including more interesting varieties, such as "Chocolate Bock" {which is a delicious treat, that I shared with my girlfriend last Valentine's day" "Honey Porter" {which is an amazing beer. and is the only porter that i have ever drank} and "Cherry Wheat" {which is interesting, but ntohing too special}. My choice is the classics, "Samuel Adams Boston Ale"which is not only the best mass produced ale I had, but is actually easily reachable, far away form Boston {I live in Upstate NY} However "Sam Adams Boston Lager" is their most widely produced one, and it is a good beer- much better than the crap the i drank at parties. Though they have a few bad beers- namely "Samuel Adams White Ale" and "Samuel Adams Hefeweizen" {which is, to me, more boring than "Budweiser". God, who's ass was this beer's recipe pulled from! it uses unmalted wheat how stupid!} And if these aren't to your taste, there is "Sam Adams Oktoberfest", "Samuel Adams Scotch Ale", "Samuel Adams Golden Pilsner"and of course, their awesome seasonal beers {"Sam Adams Winter Lager" "Sam Adams Spring Ale" and "Sam Adams Summer ale"} And if you can't handle the full bodied beers, there's "Sam Adams Light", which is the best Light Beer you can find. And of course, their most amazing brew, "Utopias"! It is the most unique beer. It is brewed like the ancient beers. It is record breaking, as it is *not carbonated* and *should be served at room temperature. It is also record breaking, as it ahs the highest alcohol percentage of *all* beers. it is a wopping 25% ABV {alcohol by volume}. that means it's five times the normal beer ABV is. and because of that, it is banned in 14 states. simply put, this isn't beer for p*ssies. but, it is legal in NY, so i have had the pleasure of trying this fascinating brew. but, i only tried it once. it is SO darn expensive. Therefore, Samuel Adams scores gold. Bravo
PS - I'd make an awesome sales manager for Boston Beer Company.
EDIT: I changed my mind on Guinness. i'm loving the stuff.

Joanie and I will be there about 6 or slightly before. Who else is coming?? Thanks again, KDD, for putting this together!

Dude! We were checking the reception as it will be over the video projector and it was good. But we tweaked the system and now it is crystal clear on every channel including 28 - even channel 2! We have a couple of 27" TV's so we'll put them along the side or in the back with Monday Night Football or Baseball if there's a game tomorrow night (muted of course!) for any sports fans.
Also, some of my buddies who have never even seen AOW are going to be there and we are going to spring for a couple of pizzas!
This is gonna be a blast. As I mentioned earlier the doors will be open before 6:00. We'll order the pizzas to get here right at 8:00. Let's have a crowd! ;D ;D ;D ;D

So, how many people are going to be there? Just wondeirng. I can't go unless you guys want to purchase me a roundtrip tacket form New York to Chicago, hotel included. oh comeon, it will only be like $600. ;D
and you shoudl probably post this in general. some people here, who don't watch our great show, might just want to go, to meet other fans. You should probably also ask Michael Han if he wants to join.
