That's right, here we go again with the "I must make my love one hate me so that they can be happy" plot. If it wasn't for Ugyeong and Yunjeong's story, I probably would've given up on this show a while ago because we all know that this plot was coming. These are one of the things make dramas drag on and on...BOO-URNS!!!

P.S. I don't really know what you're talking about, because for some reason my taping didn't work last night. I got Dae Joyoung but not Pure 19. Kids, take it from me--don't get any older. I am seriously losing my mind.

Gukhwa meets up with Yunhu's father and ask him that if she breaks up with Yunhu, will the father back off with the whole stopping Yunhu from starting a business thing. She'll make sure that Yunhu will hate her....blah blah blah.

You know, Lucy. "Oh, our love is causing him/her to ruin their life, especially their relationship with their parents, which wracks me with guilt. So, I will act very unpleasant and distant for about a week, hoping to drive him/her away from me and back to the good graces of his/her parents."

;D Yes, that's another K-Drama commandment ... must sacrifice my love because the parents of the one I love don't want me to be their DIL/SIL --- etc, etc, etc. -- oh wait - those etcs are from the King and I aren't they? And Lucy -- if you think you're old ... what am I What comes before ANCIENT? LOL

Well stated sentiment Soju! Gukhwa is still obviously very much a teenager being that she thinks like that. She tells Yunhu that he acts like a child and puts him down for it but she didn't act quite maturely yesterday either. If everyone's really worried about Yunhu not getting a job because of his father, imagine the people out there who can't get one in general. How do they manage? What do most, hard-working individuals without job opportunities do when such situations arise? They get jobs much like what Gukhwa is doing. It's frustrating to think that Gukhwa would try and save whatever honor Yunhu has by sacrificing her love. That's really a childish way of thinking. That kind of "save your lover by sacrificing your love and making them hate you" thing rarely ever works. It'll be disturbing if Yunhu buys the bait and simply breaks up with Gukhwa because of it. That would be the pathetic highlight of their relationship.

Gukwha has so much guilt-first for falling in love with YH after her fiance died, then everybody tells her that she's ruining his life and she buys it. Such nonsense- It's been Yunhu chasing her, but she accepts scoldings from his mother, father, and sister. Now she'll feel guilty for breaking his heart. And he'll scold her for being fickle. sigh.

It was nothing big Vix, I think they just said he was hit by a car or was involved in some sort of car accident...that's it...I mean, it's horrible that he's dead, but what I'm saying is that they didn't go into great details about it.

The first episode had Gukwha traveling to Korea by boat to get married. Meanwhile her fiance was struck by a car/truck/bus and killed. His family tried to call her not to come, and if she had used the plane ticket he sent her, they would have caught her in time, but she saved money and traveled earlier by boat. She said she was going back to the Korean town in China, but she really got a job cleaning a motel or something. She didn't want to tell her aunt and uncle that she had not gotten married. There's a photo of her as bride with her groom, but she photoshopped it-they never posed for it.

Must be an inside joke… let us in please. What irked me was GW spending all that money on clothes, shoes, etc. when she owes YH big time for damaging his car, plus all the clothes he bought her previously. It's possible she can return them, but how do you return shoes once you've worn them out on the street?? And Yunhu seems clueless other than to just ask what's wrong with her and then not press for a real answer. It seems like some of the characters have been taking dumb pills lately, especially Punggu and his father's asssistant at the tailor shop. I think of Koreans as extememly intelligent people, yet these dramas want to stereotype so many of them as dufusi. Talk about here we go again…
