This relationship between Hyesuk and Gramps is just not doing it for me. The old man is...too too old for her. It's disgusting! And that cap and bow tie only make him look even older.
Not that Punggu would be any better for her, but at least he's of the same generation.

I totally agree with you. He acts more like an idiot every day. Perhaps his family should have him comitted.

I have to agree on this but I think Hyesuk is overlooking his age because he's trying to take care of her and I think that's what she's wanted since her own dad died. Still, hte very idea of them together makes my skin crawl.

I couldn't really understand it either, but she's above fifty and he's in his early seventies. That's quite a difference, no doubt, but it's their personalities that match. Now that they've shown more scenes of the love triangle between Hyesuk, Pungu, and Gramps, it clearly shows me that Gramps is the better candidate. He knows how to treat her and what would make her happy. Dear Pungu seems completely lost in that matter. He's a bit selfish too. I guess Gramps is more cunning when it comes to wooing Eomjiossa.

Tonight Grandpa didn't look that old to me anymore. His skin is really young looking. Wonder if he's playing older than he is.

It's such a common event for a man to be 10 - 20 years younger than the female in a relationship. We should all be used to that idea by now. It's earth shaking when it's the other way around - when the female is 10 - 20 years younger - watch out - that's feed for the tabloids. Which I don't think is very fair because statistically, women live longer than men - so it would make a lot of sense for the female to be older. The most important thing in any relationship is how two people relate to each other; age should not be the only consideration. I think they make a good pairing - she's what he wants and he's what she wants. She's missed out on a loving relationship with her husband - how she ever got together with him in the first place has never been explained - he's such a goof, although at the end of his scenes he managed to come through as a changed man. But she has been missing the caring she felt from her father and right or wrong, Mr. Hong has shown her that caring and selflessness of putting HER first. They look very happy together. We've worked hard in this country to eliminate racism and a whole lot of other "isms" - it's about time we acknowledge that ageism exists and the idolization of youth is ridiculous. None of us live forever and all of us die at some point - that's life. So if you find a mate who makes you happy and you make him/her happy - what the heck has age to do with that?? Just MHO -- but then - I'm Old ... hee hee hee .. ;D

Soapygrams, I bet that I'm older than you. Hint- the oldest of my 5 children is 44 years old. HA! My oldest just turned 55 on 11/25/06 -- still wanna bet? LOL - I was a teen-age bride - NOT a shot-gun wedding either - just the Korean war at the time and my husband was being deployed so we had a fast track wedding. Teen-agers should not be allowed to make lifetime decisions until they are old enough to know what life is about. Oh well, My nickname then and for the next 15 years was "Fertille Delta" - LOL ;D I have 5 daughters and 1 son; one baby girl and one baby boy died shortly after birth. So that was 8 full-term babies in 15 years - which is probably more info than you want to know --- but hey, us "old ones" have to acknowledge that we have a lot of life lessons learned the hard way -- by living them, right?

After taking a peak at the"light" every day without a grass cover is the best! But Soapygrams "But she has been missing the caring she felt from her father and right or wrong" could she after having the fear of cancer, and the realization that she hasn't a family given her the idea to replace her old caring father? Also it seem KBS is on WOCK time again I got like 15 min of some temple fest on the TIVO. (but as the KBS do not work in real time I always program 30 pre & 30 post. Ref to age I feel like a kid our oldest is only 36! & I'm a year younger than your oldest.

. . . Ref to age I feel like a kid our oldest is only 36! & I'm a year younger than your oldest. Wow, just think you could be one of my kids LOL ... I think Eomoji's feelings for Mr. Hong are based on how happy he makes her feel, his absolute caring about her welfare and his sense of romance. I think she is seeing him as he looks INSIDE and not as an old man. Remember, beauty is in the eye of the beholder so we all have different ideas and feelings about life and romance. Just hope that whatever happens, they are happy - there sure are enough unhappy people so a few happy ones would be a welcome change. ;D

Fearing a scolding for personal messages, this will be my last on age. Soapygrams, I think we are on the same page. I was not a teen bride, but waited until after college. If I had married earlier, I too could have possibly had a 55 year old.
