>:(Yoonho's mom and sister are b******! Do any of them get sick in the drama? The actress that is playing Yoon ho's mom was a b**** in another drama I thought (Farewell to Tears) She has this attitude that if you marry a rich person, your life will be so much better. The sister must take after her mom. Argh she's so immature and stupid and mean. Grandpa is a jerk as well. Okgeum is turning to be a b**** as well. I hope that Gookhwa finds a good man to settle down with. She's the nicest person in this drama so far. (I'm up to episode 60)

I mostly agree with you, though Yunho’s mom doesn’t seem so much a b*tch is she’s just stupidly ignorant of what’s most important in life (and it’s not always money and status). With a little more time, I think she may begin to figure it out!
I kind of like Okgeum, though. If she’s getting a little b*tchy, who can blame her? Sometimes, it seems like she’s the only one in that crazy household with an ounce of common sense. ;D

LOL. ;D About Mrs. Park, she may be ignorant to what someone else feels, but she's not entirely heartless. She must've grown up in a rich family and what her family must've taught her was to get married to a rich man who will make her life that much better. It's only natural that she pass some of those values onto her children, right? That's why Yunhu is getting married to Shin-yeong, it's a marriage of convenience. That's why Yoon-jung was forced to marry Playboy, because "they looked good together." Not justifying her actions, because she is rude (by the superiority complex she has in regards to her SIL and Gukhwa) and immature as well, dare I say, for her age. Her husband, though he was the one to have an affair, really seems like he's got his head on straight in that family. I'm sure Mrs. Park THINKS she's doing what's best for her family, because that's how her household ran before she got married to HA HA HA. Yoon-jung is still a kid. Agreed. She whines and pouts and apparently has never made a decision by herself in her 23 years of being alive. But, IMO, she's never done anything to be a bi***. Sure, she's cut off people's ties and has run around for a week demanding someone give her driving lessons, but she doesn't mean for it to be stemming from pure evil b*tchyness. She's just a spoiled rich kid, but that doesn't mean she's a bi***. Okgeum, I've felt bad for her because of what all has been going on with Hye-suk using her FIL to get back at her for something many many years ago. But, look at what she's doing to Gukhwa! I agree a bit with you when it comes to Okgeum's new-found personality. She hasn't really given a reason for why she doesn't think Gukhwa and Ugyeong should get together and I'm waiting for an explanation. If it's money and class that are her problem, she should take a look at herself. Not to be mean, but she was a maid and someone married her, why can't Gukhwa have the happiness she has with someone that loves her just as much? IMO, the only bi*** in this drama is Eomjiossa.

I'm developing a theory on the Eomji/Hyseok/Ms. Choi (whatever we call her these days), and it ties in with BAE's assertion of her b*tchiness. I think she is playing Grandpa and Punggu to see who will give her the better deal, i.e., who will pay her ex husband's debt. I think she's going to ultimately break BOTH their hearts.

Yes, she gets a calculating look whenever one of her suitors makes a move, Now, how should I react? She doesn't seem sincere very often. I had forgotten about her husband's debts.

. . . I had forgotten about her husband's debts. ;D I bet the creditors haven't forgotten and they'll find her and then there's that old saying...."there's no fool like an old fool.." and Gramps has got it bad for Ms. Pretty Face. I don't know if she was just being nice to him at first because he did remind her of her recently deceased father --- but boy oh boy - she sure is using him now ... Honestly, I don't understand a father trying to steal his son's love interest - specially when Gramps is old enough to be HER father. No way could a woman get away with doing that to a daughter in any Korean drama LOL -- or comedy for that matter. That'd be something to see wouldn't it??? ;D

I think it would serve Grandpa right if Hyseuk threw him over for JAESO! He's about young enough to be her son, right? Wonder if Grandpa's "age doesn't matter" bit would fly then.

LOL That's too funny, Teresa. Hye-suk and Jae-so! I would've never in a million years imagined that. Hye-suk just plain pisses me off. I wish she was a lot nicer for that pretty face of hers. It's like the men in her life don't see how vicious she is because she's appealing to the eyes. GRR.

Smile pretty and act nice and get a man to do your bidding. In this case, Gramps is so in lust with this woman, she doesn't even have to ask him for stuff - he just can't wait to do stuff for her no matter the cost to his own family. He is actually making me ticked off at him for being such a jerk. But I do love the idea of HS and JS getting together -- they more or less deserve each other and HE could pay off her ex-husband's debts LOL ... ;D

It would serve Grandpa right, but JS wouldn't do it. He's all about the appearance. He just wanted a nice wife so his parents would get off his back and he could do what he wanted. His parents would not like Eomji for a DIL. Too bad. Unless...nah, he wouldn't fall in lust with her. He already has someone he lusts after, the "stalker."

I have seen the actress who plays Yunho's mom in another drama, and she played the mother of the "poor" family in that one. I've been surprised ever since whenever I see her play a rich woman. I don't like her as much as I used to; her deep smoker's voice bugs me.

But I haven't seen everything she's been in.... She's had a carreer of at least 35 years. Riding with the Archfiend, Lee Deok-hwa, in The Woman Who Walks Above the Water, 1990: Uh, probably not . See my next post - SojuLove and Ambition, 1986: Woman Requiem, 1985 코메리칸의 낮과 밤 (something about day and night?), 1977: Sensibility, 1975; Woman of Fire, 1975: Insect Woman, 1972:

Kind of like a very much older Han Go-Eun, not from recent years, but earlier. Her smoky voice drives my mother off the wall too, but I think it's what makes her look cute. She all skinny belching out this squeeky, husky voice... I dunno....

That couldn't be her in that first picture with Lee Duk-hwa. That was only 16 years ago, and that girl looks about 20. Right?
