Just got through recaps and previews up to episode 102...
Gukhwa quits UT and now delivers milk. Also works at a gas station on the side, presumably earning enough to even pay Yunhu's rent [banished from UT and other prospects by his father].
Just browsed through economic/job conditions in Seoul and I wonder why Gukhwa is doing another round of low-wage manual labor [but ok, milk delivery on bicycle is fun, and working in a grungy gas station is novel]. Aren't there upscale department stores in Seoul where she can work as a shopper? Even with basic English, Gukhwa's looks can get her a commissioned shopper job at Bloomingdale's Manhattan flagship store. Or Bergdorf's.
As for Yunhu, why insist on same UT-line [broadband service] work? With a presumed business degree/pedigree, he can pretty much do anything, even assume another name [for the time being].
Understandably, their struggles weave nicely into the drama, but not so plausible. It is nice however to watch the passionate interaction between Gukhwa and Yunhu. The Uegyong and Yunjeong pairing has taken off as romantic comedy, which is nice as well.

I too, Ella, wonder why GH has to continuously do labor jobs when there's other opportunities out there. She doesn't need a bachelor's degree to work in a department store or a fast food restaurant over there. I think the writer wants us to feel even more sorry for her as she endures so many hardships. Otherwise, it just doesn't make sense as to why she'd put herself through all that trouble.
So are GH and YH living together or what? He's gotten kicked out of his home???
The fact that UY is happy with YJ makes ME happy. He deserves someone who cares about him as much as he did GH.

Watch the clip above for episode 85 -- Yunhu turns around/doesn't go to his Singapore assignment when Gukhwa calls him [cries only but doesn't speak] from a pay phone. Quite a poignant scene... Yunhu then gives up everything [his job, his family] to chose Gukhwa. Episodes 70 to 90+ are quite romantic.
Episode 100 is quite passionate -- Yunhu tells Gukhwa that he doesn't need anything in the world because he has her...
They are not living together [yet] but they cook and dine together every night [these are tender episodes].
Yunhu's father has blocked all his business prospects, so somewhere in episodes 104-106, Gukhwa goes to see Yunhu's father to tell him she'd break up with Yunhu if he promises not to block his prospects...

Short-lived elation of YH and GW coming together at last... Despite promises of staying together no matter what, GW goes to YH's father to ask that he not block YH's prospects if she agrees to get rid of YH's affection for her, accepts money from YH's mother. So YH and GW break up [episodes 102-100+]... Huh? Might this be the reason why the drama is going to drag to 150 episodes? Budding relationship turns sour/bitter? Unbelievable writer is spinning out of control. Granted it is understood that the romance is going to have twists and turns, but roller coaster ride for viewers? Writer should well be damned and burned at a stake!

Oh, surely the writer is going for ratings...
But yes, it is not a fork in the road for Yunhu and Gukhwa but more like seemingly similar planets colliding and headed into a black hole of utterly useless romance.
I guess the writer doesn't understand that sucking viewers' guts to drag a drama to 150 episodes isn't cool. Not cool at all. It's like shoving burning coal in our eyes. She needs to re-read the primer in creative writing.

I have been on another board, and I have been watching the show on KBS Global and 44 in LA. Global is several shows ahead of 44.
Now since I have read your spoilers, I think, I am going to stop watching this show which I find very annoying mainly because of Gukhwa or the actress who plays her.

Well, I'm watching this K-drama exactly because of the cute and charming actress playing Gukhwa. Just goes to show you how people have diffrent tastes and preferences.

Was going to write an open scathing letter to KBS for the drama writer, for the jarring break-up between Yunhu and Gukhwa, but I read somewhere that all is well in a few episodes...hopefully, it will be a stronger relationship. Nonetheless, I am still writing a critique for the damn writer.

I may have gotten a little more than carried away with this drama...
The slow pace is punctured by bursts and fits from the elders [mothers, especially] and the grandpa's dalliance, with only the uncle providing an even, humorous delivery. Unlike 'Lost in Translation' where the slow pace generates quiet romantic tension, subtle/poignant development [into romance] and closure for the two main characters, this drama has more noisy muddles than anyone can foresee that the writer incorporates for her sake as a "drama" writer, and predictably for TV ratings. There are so many characters and storylines running parallel that even with only one-third remaining of the 150 or so episodes, it still seems like a contest within a contest of team pairings, rather than a progression of acting, emotions [or lack thereof], and development of characters. For one thing, Gukhwa [presumably the lead and drama namesake], still is/on to another round of low-wage, manual labor. The constant grating for empathy for Gukhwa is rather exhausting, as well as watching the endless polishing of walls, floors, cans, cars...Is there anything left in Seoul for Gukhwa to polish?
Bringing turmoil to spice up the already turmoil-laden, well-spiced Gukhwa and Yunhu pairing is double jeopardy: it is subverts the tender and poignant scenes, sabotages the already-established characters/developed storyline and relationship inroads, as well as the viewing/viewer pleasure the writer has finally carved on 100 episodes leading to "the kiss." It is hard to pin this drama's genre, as it is intrinsically Korean, and or Asian [as many of the mores and cultural juxtapositions are familiar to anyone with Asian ancestry]. It doesn't have a novel or edgy texture, or smart dialogues like 'Northern Exposure' [late 80s/early 90s sitcom entirely shot in Alaska, written by two Yale writing partners] except for snippets of righteousness and unconditional love. This drama however, has some shades of 'Dawson's Creek' with the triangles, but lacks its depth [both in soliloquy and emphatic dialogues] as well as its multi-dimensional consortium of writers. True to K-drama form, this drama relies on ordinary sentiments. Thus, moments and characters with great potential to transcend ordinariness, such as Gukhwa's travails to succeed, Yunhu's unconditional love, Grandpa's June-December romance, and Gwangman turning into a homemaker, are instead grounded in jarring transitions to be lumped into one ordinary and perhaps, predictable finale on or shortly before episode 150. As much fun to watch characters that are unreasonable, [and I hate to say] bumbling, fickle semi-idiots for most of 106 episodes, it is sad to see the potential and or at least the pretense of this drama to be something more than just the usual 30-minute, Monday-Friday K-drama.

I always thought that Gwang should become a chef. He's got talent, even his MIL agrees, and she should know, right? But homemaker? So does this mean that YJ will assume the role of breadwinner?

Haha, that's where all the spoilers are, huh? I have an account already, I just don't put it to a lot of use.
