Melissa! Long time no see. Life's been TOO busy with extracurricular activies ...even to enjoy my Kdramas! Believe it or not, but out of the MANY subbed dramas on TAN, I'm only able to watch portions of a show's airing (Wed, but not Thursday, etc.). A proud mother brag to follow - just skip it if you like ;D One of my many "duties" is to take DS (9) to his 2 hour rehearsals on Sunday (while DH's off playing golf. ). DS auditioned and made it into the state's Youth Symphony Orchestra. He's only been playing the violin a year and a half (with a month off when his teacher had a baby) and made it to the middle orchestra - and is the youngest in there. It's for reasons like this that I will gladly sacrifice my dramas. That's what I'm afraid of happening...I saw some spoilers that I couldn't believe (therefore didn't post) until it had been confirmed elsewhere. (shaking head) It's such a cute drama (although I don't like the grandpa/punggu scenes) - it seems like they ruined/ are ruining it. *Sigh* M

Is drama ending or has ended in Korea already? I read somewhere that it is some 120 or more episodes? In other words, it's spinning wheels from beginning to end? What a drama! Concocted by bad writers who cannot write...no closure, just the girl from Yanbian just spinning around, and watchers like us who are sucked into watching drama laundry just spinning around. How horrible!

They are currently in the low nineties in Korea.
With Grandpa and Hye-suk getting married soon, they have introduced a new female character. She has been a fan of Pung-gu for years, and makes sure to let him know she is single. She opens a store where Hye-suk had her diner, and when Mr. Koh (Grandpa's assistant) sees her, he immediately falls for her.
This triangle may be a typical Drama contrivance, but I am glad to hear that Mr. Koh will have a bigger role. I think he has been the most under-utilized charaters on the show.

I don't think that even Go Hyeon-suk, the writer of the show, knows exactly how it will end. We must just hope that she will avoid those dumb cliches that Duckie mentioned.

Wow, BAE, now THAT’S what I call a spoiler post. ;D I’m just a few behind (up to Ep. #44) so I can’t add anything of substance. This reminds me of Haein's motto. Okay, my memory's fading here for me, but what was Haein's motto? "Ippugai Salja!" That's my crappy romanization for "Live a Proper Life."

Soju -- thanks for the quick recap of upcoming episodes. It's about time Mr. Koh's character came to "light!"
I just read somewhere that Hyesuk will be afflicted with liver cancer. Not so surprising. She "died" of pancreatic cancer last May in 'Farewell to Tears'. Either same writers/collaboration for both dramas or Hyesuk has perfected cancer-acting.
Looked at clips [up to 82] on Youtube -- hard to tell what's going on without English sub-titles. Hopefully, the drama writers browse through posting boards and will get some idea on how to spin the ending. Closure is very much appreciated, not so much happy endings, as I know by now that K-dramas are not into happy endings, or at least cheerful ones.

Ella, I know what you mean. For myself I love happy ending (being a typical American) but have come to accept that most K-dramas don't have happy endings. But a little closure would be nice!

I just saw on VOD where Mr. Koh first sees this new woman. His jaw goes slack, and a harp appegio plays in the background

If you register on soompi.com, and check out the 'Pure 19' forum, there are lots of translations of previews and particular scenes, often illustrated with a series of screen caps, as well as discussion obut the show .

here is whats is going to happend/.korean dramas are so predictable. farmboy is going to get with luxury girl cuz he feels empty now that she doesnt pay too much attention to him. farmgirl is going to get with iceman. she know she likes him too, but she just plays hard to get. granpa and restaurant lady gunna get married and uncle is going to get shafted on his record deal. yup this is what is going to happend.

Thanks Soju...I was going to register on Soompi but it turns out that the Honululu board both have episode details and summaries up to 95...
Good to know that Hyesuk is going to be cancer-free after all. If she "dies" of cancer one more time, I will have to send her a best cancer-acting award.
The writing seems more evolved -- the dialogue between Yunhu and Gukhwa becomes poignantly sweet with old-fashioned romance. Sihnyeong becomes persistently cavalier, but quite rational in her heroic but unsuccessful claim for Yunhu's heart. I wonder if the writers do read boards and forums...Definitely much better spins for a closured ending.
