For those who are afraid of reading a spoiler thread:
I talked about this on the spoiler thread with mikey, but he was not a Lt. general, but a Lt. colonel. Of course he had stars on his shoulder mark, but North Korean ranking system is different from that of the US and South Korea. Most of all, he is too young to be a general. I hope possible subtilte mistakes and stars on his shoulder mark do not milead you guys.

Considering where Chicago is up to right now, I guess we can bring this out from hiding. Yes, the subtitler messed up, and my thanks to Candylover for pointing this out. I was initially amazed when they said he was a Lt. General, but on closer examination (including listening to the actual Korean words used to describe his rank) it turns out that he’s definitely a mere Lt. Colonel. I still think he’s a pretty cool dude, though.

They must have heard you guys. On the last episode (60) in Chicago, Chul Hung calls out to Choi, and the subtitles say "Colonel" not General. I actually remember thinking "I thought he was a General" so I know I didn't imagine this.

Yeah, now I remember seeing that subtitle, Lt Col. I called him a general in the other thread, but whatever. He's some kind of commander in the army, which puts him in charge of the mission to a certain extent.
