I'd kind of noticed this for a while, but I checked the credits the other day to be sure. Yun Mi-ra, who plays Dae-ja's mother, is also a regular in "The Jujube Tree". I saw on an entertainment show that 'Chil Sisters' is her first comic role in a series. "Love Hangs from a Jujube Tree" (the full name of the show) has been running for over fifteen years! I thought only American soaps did that

Wow, 15 years! Have they changed cast from time to time or has been the same ones?

I've seen it several times over a couple of years, and there's been a stable group of people in the village, with additions for plotline purposes. Last time I saw it, episode 734 or something was on.
Soju, is Taeja's mother the florist on Jujube Tree?

Soju, is Taeja's mother the florist on Jujube Tree? No, she is a family member from the main family. The daughter-in-law of the old guy whose hair split down the middle. I saw this show a couple of times, and I must admit, it's not all that bad! ;D

Yeah, I liked it too, Christi, but I never knew when to look for it, so it was accidental surfing for me. Some times there have been too many "must see" shows to add another one, anyway.

Question: In tonight's episode, Daeja's Mom approved of the marriage. Then I went away during her conversation with her son during the dinner table and came back to hear her say something about "never letting" something "happen".. or "they think" that something is going to happen but won't. I assume that she's speaking of the Na family. Can anyone recap this convo please?

What will never happen is the marriage. He doesn't want to marry her, the little creep, lying to her face to reassure her, all the while expecting his mother to "take care of it" and save him from getting tied down. So they will pretend to accept the marriage, and let the pregnant bride move in and MIL will browbeat her until she leaves. Wonder if there will be an actual wedding or will they put it off until after the baby is born or they break up, whichever come first?? Poor little sister.

I loved the part when she has a dream about Taeja living life as a hermit and they send somebody over to do an interview on him, Taeja asked if they were going to censor out his face and they say yes they will, so they end up censoring everything around him besides his face and they also masked his voice.

Why can't they just leave her alone and say "no" if they don't like the idea so much. Why go to the lengths of hurting a pregnant girl like that? And Tteng-chil is not tough like her other sisters. That'll just weaken the poor girl so much. What if she has a miscarriage?? Okay, I'm getting carried away, but this makes me MAD!

Then there won't be an illegitimate child to come and make a scandal in Taeja's illustrious life. If they divorce because she walks out, home free! The creeps!

I don't understand why Seo(l)-chil is so kind to this Tae-ja character. If I was in her position with a military rep, I'd beat the guy to pulp. She and the rest of the family are going so easy on him and his mother. They don't have to kowtow to anybody. It's Tae-ja's doing too. It's not like he just did nothing while Tteng-chil "seduced" him.

Didn't she beat him up the first time she met him? Maybe they think the kids would have a better marriage if he could be nudged instead of shoved. T-chil will have to live with them, after all. His mother is so snooty. sheesh. She isn't a princess-she is a business woman. That's admirable, that she can support herself and her son, but T-chil's family isn't exactly homeless and lazy.
Is there a word for people who are arrogant without reason? Unjustifiable feeling of superiority? Screechmom in My Sweetheart, My Darling, had it too. ("It" being this mental disorder that I made up.)
