I wonder what will happen to the oldest sister now that Fish Face knows he's not the only one fooling around. And I wonder what her dad will say?

Famous Quotes from Lucy: I sure wouldn't want to be married to Fishface. LOL! Fish? like maybe perhaps a LOACH? I'll bet he makes really funny sounds when you touch him. Imagine if he was the lead actor in Winter Sonata. How charming would THAT have been? HAHAHAH! LOL. I think it would be hilarious. He should do a Carol Burnett-type spoof of Winter Sonata, maybe with Na Moon-Hee (Obnoxious Grandma here and in Rosy Life) in the Choi Ji-woo role. Imagine the two of them romping in the snow wearing scarves. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8/25/06 at 16:37, kathleen34 wrote:Famous Quotes from Lucy: I sure wouldn't want to be married to Fishface. I feel bad for the oldest sister she goes from one bad man to another. First of all, her dad pretty much forced her into marrying LoachFace, then he cheats on her, then she falls for his best friend and is a total jerk/wimp/wuss.
LoachFace talking about his pride this and that, but how about the many times he's cheated on her before? Doesn't he think he hurt her pride as a woman? I think we are supposed to feel bad for him, and although I do, I keep thinking? How do you think she felt when you went from woman to woman and still came home and called all the shots?

I think all of the daughters except for Seolchill have a very poor self-image due to their father's way of talking to them. I don't think the father has any idea that he is HURTING his daughters; rather he only sees it as a way for them to learn self-discipline -- like the army. But in the father-daughter relationship constant put-downs have a devastating effect on the daughter and her future relationships with men. The oldest daughter was looking for love and tenderness, something she never received from her husband --- and she got cheated again because the man who was tender to her is not strong enough to stand up for her. It will be very interesting to see if she can overcome feeling "guilty" and strike back at fish face ... he sure has it coming. I don't approve of "cheating" on one's spouse but this is surely a case of the pot calling the kettle black and he deserves to get a taste of his own medicine.

Seon-taek is the guy we've seen only in passing so far - in his Army uniform rushing to meet someone as she was meeting Fish-face for the first time (beginning of ep 1), on his cell with his wife when she and BF were grocery shopping, him leaving the coffee shop as she was arriving to meet BF.
I think this is enough foreshadowing that it's not a real spoiler.

For a second, in today's episode, it appeared that Deok-chil sincerely felt regret for having an affair. He really doesn't seem like such a bad guy! I didn't watch the first few episodes and so I don't really know the history, but he appears genuine. What guy would think what would happen to a woman that cheated on him if he divorced her? I really wish that they would give their relationship another go, but it doesn't appear like that will happen. Trust issues and all.

So sorry, Bae, but I must disagree. For years he has flaunted his mistresses and affairs, and has treated his wife like a slave. And even now, he was not upset that she had another lover, but his pride was wounded only because she was caught. He kept repeating that. And I have lost respect for Deokchil. She can have regrets for what she did, but her self-brutality is just a bit too much. I don't agree with what she did, especially leaving her children alone for her lover, but she took good care of them at all other times.

Thanks for filling me in on that. I just assumed him to be a good guy from the few episodes I have seen from this show. I came in right when he found out that she had an affair. So, I didn't really know anything PRIOR to that. I missed that "getting caught" part.... I tend to run off in between these shows sometimes.

It's getting a little weird if you ask me. She and her mom both telling ST he can kill her, beat her, that's way over the line. Her hitting herself was hard to watch… is this standard behavior in K culture? I know this family is dysfunctional to the max, but it's getting uncomfortable seeing some of this. Too bad, because I liked her the best in the beginning.
And what's with Grandma's dialect? She sounds like feeding time at the reptile house.
One more and then I'm done… did everyone hear Ilyan tell MC he has a "poor liver"?

… did everyone hear Ilyan tell MC he has a "poor liver"? Maybe he'll have to get a transplant . . . And what was Fish-face doing in the hospital, anyway? He must have gotten that mysterious K-drama disease caused by receiving bad news.

He must have gotten that mysterious K-drama disease caused by receiving bad news. Yet another potential liver transplant appears on the horizon. Yes, I did catch Ilyan's comment. #2 LOL - ! - As for Fish-Face .. like so many of his peers, that mysterious K-drama disease landed him in the hospital. Did he arrive of his own accord? Did somone bring him on their back? ::)He DID mention wanting to kill himself... but couldn't do it. Perhaps he intended to leap onto the oncoming path of a big truck... but at the last moment, just couldn't do it... which of course would be his 'bad news' disease.
