All I have to say is "Lee Tae-ran Bictory!" Hoorah. I'd been missing out on a lot of k-dramas so I'm glad that now that my sabbatical is done I get to see a drama w/my fave girl, Lee Tae ran. she is so fun to watch.
Although when I watched the first episode I immediately thought to myself, oh no, she's going to get hurt. She likes this guy and I bet he's not going to like her like that (I haven't watched my tape with ep. 2).

Lee Tae Ran is also my favorite. She seems to get hurt in all the dramas I've seen her in, but in the end she is a winner. She is always a winner to me.

WELCOME back Galacticchick! You've been missed. I just flipped out when I saw Lee Ta-ran in military dress! At first I thought to myself... is that HER? What an interesting role. Alas, after Saturday's viewing, it seems she is going to be hurt... by her very cute dimwitted sister. But as gpaul states, in the end she will always be a true winner.

I didn't see Saturday's episode yet--I usually can't tune in 41 on Saturdays, but I'm taping the rerun (I think. Oh, WHOOPS. That would be Friday's episode that's airing today. I'll bet you anything I forget tomorrow, unless perhaps someone reminds me tonight. ). Anyway, I am so happy to see Lee Tae-ran, too! She was not too convincing as a teenager in her flashback, but that's OK. It's a pleasure to see her in her fatigues, really looking almost like a soldier! She is a good actress and always fun to watch. I'm happy to see Goo-Goo, too! (Go Juwon).

Oh and then when she had that pretty dress on and she was deciding what to do with her hair. It's like woman, you are a knock-out who are you trying to kid? And what the heck is up with those salesgirls laughing at her while she was deciding what dress to buy? I would have been screaming. She should have made them drop and give her 20 push-ups each....while carrying her on their backs.
Oh and that sister of hers, the one that got in trouble with the loan sharks. I don't like her. But I think I'll comment more on her when I see my taped ep. 2

You better be careful when you cross Lee Tae-ran: She's got you in her sights!

I love Lee Tae-ran, but (just for fun) here’s a shot of a real-life female ROK Army officer: While the three diamonds on LTR’s helmet signify the ROK Army rank of Taewi (Captain), our real-life ROK officer is displaying a single diamond on her helmet, which corresponds to the rank of Sowi (Second Lieutenant). Incidentally, the weapon she’s holding is South Korea’s standard-issue assault rifle, the Daewoo K-2. And, judging by the confident look on our young Lieutenant’s face, my guess is that she knows how to use it.

Are you sure she is a real-life soldier? She kind of looks like the heroine for First Love of the Royal Prince.

She seems to get hurt in all the dramas I've seen her in, but in the end she is a winner. they are finally showing this here! I was so excited when I came home on Friday night, pressed rewind on my vcr and saw the openning credits for this drama... Lee Tae Ran is one my favorite actresses too! I have to agree as well.... in all her shows she seems to be the one getting hurt, but she's ends up winning in the end! Though her performance in YH, was the best...My favorite character she played, by far was Ha-na from "Whose My Love". Go JuWon is a dork in this show, though. Why is he always repeating his name? " my name is Yoo Ilhan... Yoo Il- HAN" But then again he was a bit dorky and femine in the beginning of BB. It's the second episode, hopefully he going to get better as the show progresses. And HE CAN'T DANCE! Don't get me wrong....I like Go Ju Won... I really do! There's this sophistication, charms, etc. about him... Heck, if he asked me be the mother of his children, I SURELY WILL... but he's a bit dorky, fickle-minded.....HE'S NOT SUKHYUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Lee Tae-ran, but (just for fun) here’s a shot of a real-life female ROK Army officer: Mikey, that's not a real female soldier. That's actress and FinKL member Sung Yuri from dramas such as SBS "Love For A Thousand Years", MBC "The Prince's First Love" and MBC "One Fine Day". That picture is from a MBC 4 episode special drama titled "Mak Sang Mak Ha". In english it's called "My Platoon Leader" but that's not a direct translation of the Korean title. MBC Mak Sang Mak Ha (My Platoon Leader)imbc.com/tv/drama/armyCoincidentally, she's the girl in the first gif (on the left) in my sig.

After hearing so much of the "hidden meaning" of the characters' names, I just checked my Korean/English dictionary.
Yooin = "the only", and hana = "one". You often hear the final 'a' dropped in 'hana', so my guess is that "Yoo In-han" would be "The One And Only".

I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I found that photo on an unrelated site, in a thread entitled “Chicks in Uniform” (come on now, how could I resist taking a peek)? But, in any case, I guess I got suckered - along with a bunch of other guys, who deemed the photo authentic. Most of the other images there did seem to be of real servicewomen, though. That above photo was the only South Korean lady in the mix. There were a few Aussies, Canadians, and Brits, but probably 90% of the photos were of American or Israeli servicewomen. Though that (apparently bogus) ROK servicewoman is a cutie-pie, mikey’s blue ribbon for hotness has to go to the Israeli servicewomen. 90% of them look like babes. It’s hard to imagine that some of those same “babes” are actually getting shot at right now.

It seems that all of Lee Tae Ran's KBS dramas have been very succesful.....Who's my love , Yellow Handkerchief ,Rosy Life...all recorded high ratings and won her acting/popularity awards. This drama is no exception. In Korea, it has already hit 30s and it's only epsd 34 out of 60 epsds. LTR is my fave K-actress.This role is totally different from any she has done. She is an army captain....removed the rest of it becuase although it's obvious, if we haven't seen it, it's a spoiler.
