ohhhhh thanks for clearing that up, Ducky. I wondered whether the translation for their relationship was the problem. Oh okay, in that case, things make sense, kinda.. This is the one drama I'm keeping myself away from spoilers because I heart it too much.
Also, the drama spans about 30 episodes and the adult versions of out beloved younger characters show up around the 9th episode.

This is just speculation, but the double-headed heart 'arrow' going in between Keum-shil and Kyung-min must mean that Keum-shil isn't the daughter of Chundong but the child of that Politician. Otherwise, it would be yucky! When Chung-dong and Keum-shil's mom got married, Keum-shil was already like 4 or 5 years old...They call Keum-shil Kyung-min's step sister, not his half sister...It's still a little weird but did they ever really say who the daddy was??? Yes, somewhere around episode #15, it’s brought up in casual conversation that Keum-shil’s biological father was killed in (I think . . .) a fishing accident. Up until then, I had always mistakenly thought that she was a half-sister to the other kids (rather than a step-sister).However, it hasn’t been made clear (yet) if her father was actually the dead fisherman, or is instead Senator Park.

I also thought that Keum-shil was the half-sister of the others...same father, different mothers. I'm so glad that it's cleared up now that Keum-shil is their STEP-sister.

Oh wow...gotta love those love triangles! Is this spoiler thread official yet?
~*~*~Spoiler Discussion!*~*~*~*~ * * * * * * * It looks like Kyung-sook is in a love triangle with that guy who's father is running in politics. But he's involved with that girl that he sang and played the guitar with. And that guy who rides the bike in the first episode...it looks like he likes Kyung-sook too! And Kyung-yu and his childhood friend are so cute together! I don't see a love triangle for these two. So Keum-shil and Kyung-min like each other. I think that's great (now that we know they are not blood-related). But Keum-shil is also loved by that chubby-cheeked little boy in the future! I really like this show! * * * * * END of spoiler discussion

I saw that there are a total of 30 episodes. I also wanted to see more episodes with the younger actors and actresses.

They better do a lot of background for how their lives develop because otherwise we'll be left lingering a lot and left to figuring out what happened in between all those years. Things don't look good though. I think Jongkyu (is the guy Kyungsook likes) disabled it seems. He also appears to have a wife and child! This is scary stuff....

They better do a lot of background for how their lives develop because otherwise we'll be left lingering a lot and left to figuring out what happened in between all those years. They don't, which really left me confused for a while. So, I wrote up an intro to Episode #9, but decided to post it in a new thread (with a spoiler warning) so that people who are spoiler-sensitive can avoid it. Nothing really serious gets spoiled there, I think (it’s just an explanation of what happened in the ensuing 10 years, and where they are now) but I want to be careful. Also, once you've all seen Episode #9, it won't be spoiler stuff anymore anyway.

They better do a lot of background .... They had a flashback when the fat guy was talking to Keum-shil on the phone...

Soonshik is so adorable in a cuddly kind of way. When he smiled, after talking to Keunshil on the phone, I was reminded of his little boy smile. These adult actors are really good. They have the personality and mannerisms of the small children, yet they are all grownup.

What's sad is that he doesn't seem to be anything like the original Soonshik. That kid was soooo plump and adorable. If one tried to pinch his cheeks, it'd probably be and impossible task.
