I feel like Okdoo has bad luck w/men. She's just too nice, I guess. Yeonggil seems quite foolish.

I wonder what he asked his son to do-did he coach him or is the boy just attuned to his father? Mentioning that he hadn't eaten lunch-had the boy eaten lunch? Is the guy so broke that he can't afford or so disorganized that he can't manage to find a lunchplace? He's been the one taking care of the kid, so you'd think he had some time management skills. Wonder if he has a job? He just seems like a sad sack, not especially skilled at manipulation, unless that's his act, to be pathetic.

no offense to the korean guys, but yeonggil seems kind of like the negative stereotypes of a korean guy. am i wrong? ;D I think he's a sleaze, manipulative, opportunistic, unfaithful, disgusting JERK. In other words, I don't like him and I hope BY knocks him on his butt and throws him out the door! He is obviously raising his son to be sneaky too. What a shame - Ok doo may not be the brainiest female around but she seems to have a really pure and kind heart. She does deserve better than this total waste of manhood. yuk yuk yuk

I hope that Okdoo doesn't go back to Yeonggil, she deserves to have a nice husband and her son with her. She was a little annoying at the beginning with her wispy voice, but she has grown on everyone because of her sweetness and pure heart. Maybe the husband has changed, but so far it doesn't seem like he has.

I think Korean men have an especially bad rap, though.

oh gawd, all the stereotypes: smoker, drinker, wife-beater; my Korean cousin in Hong Kong says Hong Kong women stereotype Korean men as wife-beaters. So he's single, LOL. Also the stereotype is that Korean men are spoiled by their mothers.
As with any stereotype that you hear, take it with a grain of salt.

So many men around the world are spoiled by their mothers. Italian men (in Italy), forget about it! No woman will ever measure up to mamma.
We certainly see a lot of the drinking on the dramas. Wife-beating, yuck. That is a very bad cultural trait, if true. The one Korean man I know (at work) seems very gentle and kind.

oh yeah, the stereotypes are unfortunate. My cousin in Hong Kong wouldn't hurt a fly and then he's guessed to be this wife-beater type because of his nationality. And then I hear from another cousin that M. Night Shymalan's "Lady in the Water" has 2 Korean characters, who are crass and embarrassing with broken English. "Oh the stereotypes, there must be more to life." -D. Albarn

So many men around the world are spoiled by their mothers. . . Have 5 daughters and 1 son ... I did not spoil him ... but his SISTERS ... well, he was and is very close to them and they all look up to him ... can't say he's exactly spoiled either - but like all of us, he likes getting his own way - - who doesn't?? being honest, so do I - LOL ... ;D
