Jae-ok is the aunt of Ki-woong and Suk-hyun. She is the woman whith the cafe. Her son recently died young (she was already a widow). Her son was also apparently Jong-nam's boyfriend. About the scarf: in another scene we didn't see here, Jong-nam pauses her scooter in front of a store, where the scarf is part of a window display. Shew flashes back to herself and he boyfriend walking past the store, and he sees the scarf and gets quite enthusiastic. At first I thought he was going to buy it for Jong-nam, but now I think he was saying something like "Boy, my Mom would really like that." Sure wish the VOD's had subtitles. But then, if WOCH didn't edit the show, I wouldn't need to watch the VOD's. The wife of Mr. Meticulous is the SIL of the bereaved cafe owner? Sad woman was at the welcome home party at Grandmother's home, and DIL was the one who visited her. Wife of Mr. Meticulous is a friend of HomeShopping owner's wife, and her daughter has been such a star employee. This is going to take a while to figure out. Poor homeless waitress, hope she gets repaid. Her brother died, and her boyfriend died. Poor girl. Hope she goes back to talk to the sad mother about the last days of her son, whatever they were. Or talk about happier days.

There are two dead young guys in this show, plus the dead husband? Wow. That's quite a body count already.

Jong-nam's such a nice person, a little fiery, but that's good!

About the scarf . . . he sees the scarf and gets quite enthusiastic. At first I thought he was going to buy it for Jong-nam, but now I think he was saying something like "Boy, my Mom would really like that." Yes, you got it right. Some days/weeks earlier, the boyfriend had commented to Jong-nam about what a nice scarf it was, and Jong-nam kind of mocks him, saying that's something only a 30-year old woman might wear. The boyfriend says that his mom still looks about 30-something, leaving Jong-nam slightly embarrassed. She had assumed that he was picking it out for her. So, Jong-nam, upon riding by on her scooter and seeing that the scarf was still in the window, couldn’t help but buy it. She then rode to the ramen shop, where she offered it to the shop’s owner (who had no idea who Jong-nam even was) telling her that her late son had picked it out for her before he died.

Hey, I only now noticed that ginnycat5 just made "Wang." Here’s a list of the character’s connections, the best I’ve figured it out so far (however, if anybody notices that I got something wrong, please let me know)! ***** The central character of this series is the grandmother. She’s the matriarch of the large, extended Chang family. Grandmother’s first son (with whom the grandmother lives) is Jae-do, a good-natured office clerk. He’s married to wife Min-sook, whom grandmother seems to constantly nag. They have two children: unemployed son Ki-woong and high-school student daughter Da-jung. Grandmother’s second son is Jae-man, CEO of the “Well Being Home Shopping Network.” His wife, Nara (who was initially identified as “Yo-jin” on the KBS website) is a rather stern woman who seems to be largely responsible for her husband’s business success. They have one son, Suk-hyun, heir to the family’s Home Shopping business. He’s something of a spoiled rich-boy type. Grandmother’s only daughter is Jae-ok, who owns a small ramen shop. She’s a sad, lonely woman. Her husband died some time ago, and recently, she lost her only son as well. The second major family group is the Choi family, headed by Byung-doo, a cold character who insists upon nothing short of perfection from his hapless wife Yu-jung. They have one daughter, Hae-in, who seems to have inherited much of her father’s sense of order and discipline, but (thankfully) combined it with some of her mother’s gentle nature. Byung-doo also has a just-divorced sister, Ok-doo, who has a hard time since hard-assed Byung-doo finds something like divorce to be inexcusable. The women of the Chang and Choi families know each other well, and Hae-in works at the Chang family’s Home Shopping Network. And then there’s Jong-nam, a poor girl with (apparently) no family. She was the girlfriend of Jae-ok’s late son. She’s good-hearted, but her hot temper gets her into constant trouble.

Awesome, Mikey! Thanks for this list of characters info. I was getting so confused! Is Jae-min seeing another woman because he was talking on the cell phone with someone named, "Ms. Shin" and he sent her beautiful flowers?

Not to give anything away, but Jae-man seems to have a reputation for fooling around (something I’d sure think twice about, were I married to a wife as harsh as Nara).
It looks like he's carrying two different cell phones with two different ring tones, so he can immediately identify if the call is from his wife Nara, or from his girlfriend “Ms. Shin.”

I don't know if it was Mrs. Shin, but in a scene that was cut out of Friday evening's show, he is shown at the driving range with another woman, slyly helping her with her stroke by standing behind with his arms around her, showing her the proper swing.
Not to belabor the point, but twelve minutes or so were cut out of Friday's ep. That's almost a quarter of the episode. Sheesh! It was almost all talking, so I don't really know what we missed.

Okay, there's Myung-ja, the cafe owner, and she knows Nara, and then she knew Byung-do. It was sort of subliminally stated that Byung-do and Myung-ja used to be a couple at some point in time, wasn't it? I'm confused as to how she came up in one convo between Yoo-jung and Byung-do a couple of episodes back.

In a scene that was cut out, Byung-doo calls his wife, evidently asking her to go check out the cafe that his sister bought into (with his money). After Yoo-jung hangs up, she thinks of something Ok-doo said (dunno what). She goes to the cafe and talks with Myung-ja, disaproving of practically everything she sees.
Back at home (which we DID see) Byoung-doo is trimming the stems of some orchids. He asks Yoo-jung if Myung-ja still has that beautiful smile. His wife is a little taken aback, and watching him tend to his orchids, says, "I wish you'd pay that much attention to ME!"

Did he then make some snarky comments about how his wife was looking older?

Otherwise he wouldn't have asked and she wouldn't have gotten upset.

Is MS. Shin totally out of the picture now? Or will she come back to find out that he's been goggling at another beauty?

She seems to be gone. Wish she would come back in time to save Byung-do's sister from falling for the lech.

She was blind herself, what's she going to do about another woman like her??? If HI and SH do get together and marriage is brought up and there's this family meeting thing and then OD and JM come face to face with eachother, then it might let OD know how foolish she was and side with her brother not to let HI get married to a two-timer's son.
