 There were subtitles on the rerun this afternoon. I didn't catch the original showing last night though. |

I called the station after about 5 minutes of not knowing what was going on. The person who answered didn't know anything. I especially wanted to know when the episode would be aired again and whether there would be English subtitles by then. He didn't know. So does anybody here know when it will be rebroadcast? Friday morning? Very frustrating, especially since it appears that there were some significant developments (yes, I did watch it all! Is that nuts?).

I think it's safe to say that there will not be any subtitles on tomorrow's repeat of tonight's episode.  I guess there could have been a worse episode for this to occur, such as the climax when the Brothers and Hyesun ultimately destroy Ilho. I seemed to figure out most of the storyline tonight, but what did Jungwoo say to Hyesun? She didn't seem too happy about what she was told; it almost seemed as if she still hasn't admitted her maternal relationship to Jungwoo yet. Other than that, we can find out how Ilho got the Yojin and Jungwoo booted out of the department store in the next episode. |

If you guys give some more concrete examples of what you want to know about, perhaps spicy cabbage and pharaoh will be able to tell you what was
said.
For instance, Captain Video, you could give a short synopsis and tell them SPECIFICALLY what you did NOT understand, they would be able to fill in the blanks. Just an idea.

For starters, what was the exchange between Jungwoo and Mrs. Kang? What was the exchange between Jungwoo and his brother that caused his brother to slug him? What did Seoyoung say to Jungwoo that seemed to lighten his mood a little? What did Mr. Park's daughter say to Jungwoo? Which one persuaded him to go back to making noodlels? Where did he get the new noodlemakers outfit? No, that last one is just a little joke.

What I want to know is how the weather affects the subtitles..... Were they being delivered by a carrier pidgeon that got blown off course? And where was this bad weather they speak of?  ? |

My guess is that they download the program from a satelite and then deliver it to someone in Chicago to provide translations, and that the stormy weather on Sunday prevented the download and so they couldn't get it translated in time for broadcast. Just speculation.

On second thought, how do other stations in the US get their programs and especially their translations? Are they done in Korea instead? They have improved a great deal in recent months--more idiomatic English.

SOB SOB SOB. And you can take that how you like. I went to check the TV to see if it was subtitled (and as you now know, it was not), and I noticed it was not recording either. Then I got a terrible feeling. The VCR clock was still set to PRE DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME. I cannot believe this--it happened to me in the fall, too. I've missed EVERY EPISODE IN APRIL. This is what I get for not catching up sooner. Oh well, just had to share... Bo |
