I just didn't feel that any of the current threads would accomodate my thoughts. First off, Seouyoung's family being dispossesed, that was harsh. Miinjoo's in a family way, whoa! And now, what could the relationship past between Ms. Kang and Seouyoung's dad be? Suddenly this show sprang to life in a major way! ;D

PUH-LEEZE start new threads, Captain Video! LOL. We really like to see separate threads for separate subjects. I don't know why there's any hesitation on that score, but there do seem to be some long, tangent-filled threads on the boards lately.
Ms Kang and Seo-young Apa? Aigu. Can't wait to see what's up with THAT. That woman is everywhere, lol.

That woman is everywhere, lol. We know she was with Jung-woo's brother (Dad), Then there was speculation about her and Illho-- Now Seouyoung's dad (aka Jang Tae-bok)... Reminds me of a Beach Boy's song: "Round round get around I get around..."

Reminds me of a Beach Boy's song: "Round round get around I get around..." Whoa, she wasn't with Sung-jae, Jung-woo's "dad". She was with (or married to?) the father, Mr. Han. That's how Jung-woo is the 4th brother, because they have the same father. I don't know if she was with Ilho, even tho they were in the phony bookkkeeping scheme together. But there is some past story with Seo-young's dad. I can't wait to find out what it is! That was awful, the family getting tossed out! What was the father thinking, he knew he was screwed, he had no chance to get out of it, so he really should have broken it to his family so they could have packed and been ready. Those women storming in and grabbing stuff, that made me nuts!

Those women storming in and grabbing stuff, that made me nuts! My mistake, She was just married to Mr. Han and had nothing to do with Sung-jae other than your usual step-mom type activities...But I still think Ilho and her had to be more than friends or she wouldn't have done the evil deed to the Han family...And Seo-young's dad....If you don't tell your family that they are about to be thrown out on the streets, there might be alot more they don't know... What if..... - Ms. Park was cheating on Mr. Han...
- Seo-young's dad was cheating on Seo-yong's mom...
- Now Ms. Park is Jung-woo's mom....
- maybe Seo-young's dad is Jung-woo's dad???...
- EEEEEEEWWWWWWW!!!!!!
- Jung-woo's dating his sister!!!!

Oh, YUCK. Not THAT thing again! LOL. I would mention a particular "semihistorical" series, but I don't want anyone to get spoiled for that one.

I could be wrong but my take was that Ms Kang met SeoYoung's dad while she was working at that bar. Shortly after that scene where he thought he knew her from somewhere she was crying in her office about how her past as a bar maid was coming back to haunt her. Anyway that's what I thought when i saw it.

Anyway that's what I thought when i saw it. Yeah, well, so did the rest of us once we saw the next episode So, is there a sort of a caste system in Korea (I believe there are still the remnants of one in Japan) or is it that much of a taboo to have been a barmaid? Perhaps, does barmaid mean something a bit more risque?

Perhaps, does barmaid mean something a bit more risque? In BB didn't Nara use the "You have to fire her,...She used to work in a bar, It will be bad for our company's image" line? For anyone who doesn't watch Bizarre Bunch, she used 'working in a bar' in a derogatory mannner....

Maybe the translator is using the word "barmaid" to stand in for something that actually means "hostess"--er, you know, a "date" you "purchase drinks for" with "benefits."

That would explain a few things and put Ducky's theories into effect.

@ Bo, heehee... Next time, it's The Dae BAE. I think it's "Ne" but sounds like "Dei" because of all the nasalness that goes into a Seoul accent.
