So, it occurred to me during tonight's episode that Koreans probably are not celebrating the arrival of some disguntled British settlers to Plymouth, what is the significance of Thanksgiving in Korean culture?

Most cultures have some sort of harvest festival or festival of giving thanks for the bounty of harvest etc. This is probably being translated to our nearest equivalent.

We had a big discussion about this on YSS board. But I can't remember it. It has to be a harvest festival, I'd think.

The word Choseok keeps occurring to me, but I haven't looked thru the boards for it.

Chusok/Chuseok, etc. Yes, that's it. It's in the early fall, they have special foods, everyone goes home to his ancestral town, and such like. It's a major holiday. I'm pretty sure it was discussed in the Generals fairly thoroughly.
