Oh, and Seon-ok and Hye-sun worked in the factory together (and that's where Sung-jae met SO). That's why Seon-ok calls Hye-sun "unni" all the time. They were like best friends.

Bo, I don't remember that - I thought it was thru marriage that they met. Hye-sun was in the office. Was Seon-ok making noodles?

Actually, I'm as baffled as ginnycat; the only scene I remember from the old factory (not olfactory) is when Ilho is making the proposition to Hyesun (I believe she was pregnant in the scene) and Ilho's mom is working, but overhears the plot, hence her guilty feelings for all those years.

When Seon-ok first met with Hye-sun after so many years, they reminisced about the old times. S-O apparently worked "on the line" in the noodle factory, making noodles. It seems they all did, just like in the new place, only there were many more employees there. I don't know if S-O was actually married to Sung-jae at the time. Also, S-O talked with other characters about the earlier friendship between her and Hye-sun.

Oh, I assumed that was when they were living together.
There's something about the old days with Sung-mi - Did Mr. Moon used to know her? He made some aside crack about how she's changed since she came to Seoul. Where was that old noodle factory anyway, in a small town? Or did Seoul grow up around them all.

LOL, Ginny. I'm just having visions of a city "growing up" and toddling around--I know, I know...
Anywho, they definitely were from some small town, in the North I thought, because they talked about moving to Seoul when Jung-woo was an infant (and also why Ms Kang lost their trail). However, I don't understand why Ilho ended up in Seoul, too, if he stole their factory. Maybe it was merely a suburb of Seoul and they moved into the city. Or, maybe Seoul is where the action is, where everyone ends up. As a matter of fact, that's pretty true. They are plannning to build a bullet train or something (or may have already done it) which is expected to open up the suburbs and provinces to more settlement and businesses, taking the load off of Seoul.
