Did you all notice that when Jungeun bought the canned ham, the side of it read "Spam" (like we recognize it, but in the front it read Zipam (which is I guess the phonetic pronunciation for Koreans). I thought this was interesting, I didn't know they changed their names depending on the country they are selling their product. Yuck though, when she was scooping it out of the can and stuffing her mouth with it, it looked like gellatin, not ham. I've never had Spam, but judging by the TV, I don't think I'm missing out on too much.

Or it could be the show producers changing the product name slightly for legal reasons. I don't know. But a Google search for "zipam" turns up pretty much nothing. It's packed in gelatin to help keep the meat from going bad. As far as I know, most SPAM afficionados don't actually eat the gelatin packing (or not much of it anyways), just do weird things like write poetry about it. ;D

Spam or "Zipam" is one of the wonderful things from American Military involvement in Asia. As you may know it was developed during the Second World War as a way to provide meat for troops in the field. My wife is from the Philippines and it seems that everyone from there loves it.If you go to visit you'd best to bring Spam with all the other gifts! The great thing about it is that you can eat it hot or cold. Eating it out of the can with a spoon is something new for me. I must admit when it comes to Spam, I am among those who like it a lot. I found the show (Rooftop Room Cat) by accident on Cable channel AZN and I will watch just about anything with subtitles. Thank you!

Just be a little bit careful about spoiling things for people watching on KBC 28 in Chicago, who are currently one episode behind and who will get an episode further behind each week (KBC 28 is showing two episodes per week; AZN TV is showing three episodes per week).

I found the show (Rooftop Room Cat) by accident on Cable channel AZN and I will watch just about anything with subtitles. If you are interested in subtitled Asian-oriented programming in general, AZN TV has - one Korean drama (this one, currently);
- two or three Chinese dramas;
- a Hindi drama; and
- movies Sunday, Monday, and Friday.
