The mom said a lot more than that. She said that she wasn't pretty or smart and wasn't special, and that she'd better just find some blind fool. I think she also said she shouldn't waste her time going to school, though I don't know if Jung-eun quoted her as saying that in those particular subtitles or if it was just shown in the first episode. OK. That was probably the first episode. There was a lot more interaction with her family (obviously) in the first episode.

No, I meant all but that last statement (about her going to school) was definitely in the subtitles. It's only that bit about school that I was unsure about.

I think someone said it was going to be 16 episodes long. Which to me works out fine, I don't know if I can handle watching another drama that is over 100 episodes.

Well i wondering if anyone knows if this is a miniseries or if this is going to be a long drama? Where do you draw the line between a miniseries and a long drama? For example, Tribune currently lists 義経 as a forty-nine episode miniseries.

I thought they didn't list KBC) says it's a miniseries, it's probably because American shows don't end until they're cancelled and in America, only miniseries start out with a finite number of episodes.

I meant Tribune Media Services, which provides the TV listings and some of the other content for the Chicago Tribune as well as thousands of other papers, many cable boxes, DVRs, and so forth. They also operate the Zap2It TV listings web site, which does list KBC-TV/WOCH-LP, although the listings there don't really seem to correspond with reality.

Please bear with me , but I am certain that they had "consensual sex" because they both met with their friends to seek advice about what they thought about people having "consensual sex" without talking about it first! Also the Way Jung eun looked under the covers to see if she had all her clothes on the next morning, I mean, come on! I like this series because its interesting to get an insight into other cultures. I mean no offense to anyone but I am fascinated watching Jung eun eat; the spoon dip, scraping on the side of the container, her facial expressions (especially when she's getting her drink on!) The whole premise seems to me that each of them is chasing after someone who has little regard for their feeling/needs. I just hope that Jung eun doesn't get screwed over by the "Korean Anne Hesch"(who said that, I thought that was so right on!) I think his little stud earing is suppose to show that he's been places other that Seoul. Also, I found it very touching when Jung eun thought she had a job. Who hasn't at some time or other thought that their ship had come in and made changes, told people only to find out "not quite." Say what you will about her, she's doing all she can to make it in the big city and she has a good heart too. I like the fact that she tried to get Hye ran to face up to how shallow she is. The pressures of being young, female and working class are the same whatever the culture. Thank you for letting me share my thoughts. PS this is my first time doing something like this!

Hi, frylockontop, welcome! I think it became clear in this episode that they did have sex, and it's weird that they're sweeping it under the rug. I guess we'll have to see how they handle it. I think her eating habits are not necessarily representative of Korean table manners, though they do eat rice with a spoon, unlike Japanese and Chinese. She is more gung-ho about it than characters in other dramas. It was making me a little sick how she shoveled in bite after bite without swallowing in between. I felt bad for her, too, when she found out about the job. I really admire her grit. If that had happened to me, if I'd had the same obstacles to overcome, I would have gotten depressed and cried a lot more. I probably would have gone further down the path of, "What's wrong with me? Why am I such a failure?" She didn't indulge in that for long. Lucy

And you made me laugh out loud with that "getting her drink on" line! ;D ;D Thanks for explaining that man's earring too, that makes sense now (but it doesn't make it right ). Please post here often!

I have to say I was so happy that Jung-eun beat the snot out of Hye-ran! That girl needed to be smacked around a bit. And I couldn't believe it when KM scolded JE for not treating the cut on her hand that HE CAUSED! Was that supposed to be a touching scene, him cleaning up her owie? It reminded me of an abusive husband putting an icepack on the black eye he gave his wife.

And I couldn't believe it when KM scolded JE for not treating the cut on her hand that HE CAUSED! I KNOW ;D I was so happy that she beat the crap out of Hye-ran. I think Jung-eun needs to beat her up again though. And why did Kyung-Min just grab Jung-eun and throw her? That was horrible. He needs to get his a** kicked too. I hope those guys that are looking for him find him and mess him up bad. I mean he just grab her and threw her. I don't know who is worst, Kyung-Min for being obsessed with Hye-ran, even after she stood him up and lied to him, or Jung-eun for liking Kyung-Min so much and putting up with his crap. Yeah he can be nice sometimes but man that is to much drama.
