Wow... its over. I hear a collective sigh of relief on the KBC boards. I didn't watch it very often after the first 90 or so episodes, but I did read the boards here regularly. You could tell the show was not inspiring anyone.
I did watch the final episode tonight. I still give Sunmi and Jaemin the nod for best characters. Those actors did a fine job. Tragically, the ending couldn't have been more predictable. Too bad and shame on the writers.
There is room for a lot more analysis, but nothing new that was not covered here already. Here's hoping we get a good one soon. ... or is the channel dead after it goes to 41?

Boy oh boy, I actually shed a tear at the end of this show ...because I can't believe I sat through this garbage, this was crap...episodes were chopped, sometimes so bad that things didn't even make sense...stupid characters were brought in, and for what?!?!...there were just too many parts of the show that didn't even need to be in there...characters never grew (to me), they never changed and if they did, they changed for the worst, instead of making them more likable, I hated them more and more during each episode...I'm really glad this is over.

What a sweet moment between Ki-joon and In-young at the end.
So Hee-joo never found a new love? I thought she was buying something for some new man in her life when she was shopping with her mom. But the gift was for Ki-joon afterall.
That's awesome that Sun-mi and Mr. Noh are getting married! They have so much in common...perfect for each other!
In-chul and Mi-jung expecting a baby was wonderful news!
I felt bad for ScreechMom. She was sitting there hugging her two new puppies while Ok-ja, Man-doh, and Bo-bae were having family time around the Christmas tree.
Jae-min and Him-chan are so cute! I loved the birthday scene when Him-chan gave his Dad his piggy bank for a birthday present.
I am really disappointed that there was not much closure in this drama. Whatever happened to Jin-ah?! How about In-kyung?! Also the gender of IY and KJ's baby? Do IY and KJ get back together for sure? Was the hugging a sign that KJ and IY will be together?

Maybe Jaemin will marry Him-chan's schoolteacher. He's too good to keep living alone.
Wonder if Grandfather and Aunt will get married.
Maybe Hee-joo will marry an artist.
I thought ScreechMom should have asked (ha! she only gives orders) her sister to go to In-young with the nutritious soup and expensive fish. SM is a little less strident now, but of course the relationship has changed in a legal sense. I'm going to assume that Ki-joon will insist on SM keeping some kind of distance and decorum. IY has learned only a little about speaking her mind, but KJ will encourage her to be stronger. So shall it be, in the words of pharoah.

Well, I think this show redeemed itself a tiny, tiny bit with the ending. I didn't have the intense dislike for the show that some people did, but I'm still left wondering why the show was so lacking, given the writer and much of the cast.
One thing though: much as I have disparaged WOCH's apparent editing of this show, they got it right this time, and we were spared the "milk drinking contest."

I can't believe that it's really over, but I'll miss it. I kind of had the idea that the last scene, when IY meets KJ at a reunion, then seeing them hugging by the river with snow falling, was the end. I wouldn't think that SM would take on 2 dogs, much less take Bo-bae to the park.
It seems that IY will return to KJ, but there's a lot of questions yet to be answered. Will IY return to that crazy house with SM, only to have her become subservient again while SM raises their child. Will IY have a boy or a girl? Since when did Sun-mi and Mr. Noh have such a close relationship that it would end in marriage? I think they're the perfect couple. In-chul and Mi-jung expecting a baby? He's kind of a jerky control freak, so I feel sorry for MJ.
I truly feel sorry for Jae-min and Him-chan who were such wonderful characters. I think IY would have married JM if she weren't pregnant by KJ. At least she's showing by now. KJ will always be tied to his mother. If she and KJ want to lead a normal life, they should move far away, maybe to China where KJ can still set up a sports center.
It's been entertaining watching this soap as well as My Precious Child. I just hope the next one is just as good.

I didn't watch the show from the begining because I didn't know about it. But as I was changing the chanel, this show caught my eye. And it has ever since. I watched it almost everyday. I loved it. I didn't like the way it ended, ;)but I am glad its over. [/b]

Well, I'm glad it's over. I hate the way they made the ending seem so plausible and happy. They had me believing that IY really was in love with KJ all this time and that everything was going to be fine. But what about all that time in the middle when IY was saying she wanted to be by herself, she wanted to marry JM, she didn't want KJ to come around anymore . . . ? That character and actress have some serious problems. If we were supposed to believe that she didn't really mean all that stuff and that she was only fooling herself, she didn't do a very good job of portraying it. Instead, the audience was pulled this way and that; each time IY changed her mind, we were supposed to think, "Now this is the way she really feels." So, big deal, she and KJ are together at the end. Nothing that's gone before has made me think that there's any clear reason why she feels this way now. Big eye rolls here. That last scene with Jae-min and HIM-CHAN! was sad and touching. They are back where they started, two bachelors making the best of it with their faithful ajumma providing a woman's touch where needed. I think there needs to be a sequel, "The Courtship of Him-Chan's Father," starring your own Lucy as the love interest. Believe me, this time sexy Jae-min isn't getting left alone at the end! Are Sun-mi and that guy really getting married? I thought they were just telling his mother that they were. Again, absolutely no reason or context for that happening, since Sun-mi has said all along she's never getting married and we never saw anything but friendship developing between those two.

. . . Are Sun-mi and that guy really getting married? . . . we never saw anything but friendship developing between those two. Why not? I never saw a lot of love coming from In young to Ki joon either but look at how it ended .. this show had a lot of mixed messages and characters that just disappeared .. without a trace - sorry about that - I am glad it's finished. I feel cheated by it tho and am so glad I had WML to take away that bad taste of MSMD . On to the next K-drama - TBB ...

Lucy, "The Courtship of Him-Chan's Father" by you, I assume, a non-korean is a great concept. It seems impossible to have a cross-cultural story air in S. Korea... but I'd watch it. That would really shake up the k-dramas. Do we have a script writer in the group? Holiday Cheers and a Happy New Year!

Holiday Cheers and a Happy New Year! ah! windsor we might be in luck. such as it is i'm a script typist so i can help with the write-ups. hahaha!!! okay so what's our first thought??? the sequel sounds a whole lot better than the original. And we can cut back on costs if we just get rid of IY and KJ and work with Sunmi and Mr. Noh. We need actors with color and pizzazz rather than long faces, cheap tears, and spineless. (wow! was that so harsh??? SORRY!)Of course we need some anger parts so we will sporadically write evil SM in once in a while? ;D ;D So what do you think? ?? Can you tell I didn't care too much for this show. Truth be told, I enjoyed MPC better. Sorry MSMD fans!!

Wait a minute, you guys didn't get to see the milk drinking contest scene?! Yet another foil for diaharria (how DO you spell that word?), which was oddly metaphorical to the drama itself! We could have easily swapped out that scene along with hand bag dragging and a few drinking shots (no pun intended) to further develop this sudden engagement between Sunmi and Mr. Noh. Even a little bit? Like a line or two: SUNMI: "Hey, I think you're cute. Maybe I'm not totally down on marriage." MR. NOH: "You're cute too, but you really have to get out of all your friend's lives so much and start one of your own."

Wait a minute, you guys didn't get to see the milk drinking contest scene?! Yet another foil for diaharria (how DO you spell that word?), which was oddly metaphorical to the drama itself! Man, that comment hit a little too close to reality. ;D We could have easily swapped out that scene along with hand bag dragging and a few drinking shots (no pun intended) to further develop this sudden engagement between Sunmi and Mr. Noh. Even a little bit? Like a line or two: SUNMI: "Hey, I think you're cute. Maybe I'm not totally down on marriage." MR. NOH: "You're cute too, but you really have to get out of all your friend's lives so much and start one of your own." Yes, another strange plot development that came out of nowhere. Since Sun-mi was among my favorite characters in this not-so-favorite daily drama, I might have enjoyed seeing a bit of romantic involvement between her and Mr. Noh. Instead, it's just an out-of-the-blue "Hey, let's get married!" "Okay!" kind of thing. Still further disappointment from a disappointing show.

OK, "Courtship of Him-Chan's Father": A sassy American woman, definitely of the non-purse-dragging type, moves to Korea and becomes an assistant in Him-chan's Montessori classroom. (Jae-min decides to send HC to Montessori school, just because I like the Montessori method and it's my drama, LOL.) Unlike all those mothers who waited with their kids at the bus stop, this American lady immediately notices the hunky Jae-min and begins, for some unknown reason , to take a special interest in the education of one Chung Him-chan . . .

This sassy American teacher schedules a weekly father/child cooking class and a monthly field trip (with parents).
