When I first heard them say this I thought is was an ice cream treat, but what they ate didn't look like ice cream to me. Sundae (or soondae) is actually a sausage, commonly found at those orange tented food carts. See this for more about it and other food you find there. So be careful if you order a hot-fudge sundae at a Korean restaurant

Thanks for the info and the link! I wondered about it but forgot to ask. Um, I think I'll pass, though, especially on the lung commonly served w/it. Don't care for organ meat myself, although my 2 year old seems to really like pig heart (ew).

It doesn't seem too appetizing to Americans. My SIL, who if from the Phillipines, says that Filipinos find turkey, which is our staple at Thanksgiving and Christmas, not very tasty and edible.

One of the traditional dishes in the Philippines is called, I think, dugang? And the best of my recollection, it's an unborn baby duck in the shell. So, grownup dead turkey/unborn dead duck, take yer pick. They're both pretty icky to me.

Soapy, it seems like your messages show up in boldface by default. How do you do that?

Umm, actually, Lucy, I was hoping no one else would take up that habit. It's okay when Soapygrams does it, because it's kind of a personality thing and she's not capitalizing, but I'd hate for the whole board to become blanketed with semi-shouting. Maybe you could post yours in a special color instead? Hmmm?

Bo, No, I don't need a "thing"--my prose is emphatic enough. I think a special color would be sort of an eyesore. I just was remarkin' is all. Lucy

HAHAHA! Lucy This is fun!
Actually, I was interested to learn if soapygrams had some sort of default setting, because it seems like extra trouble to boldify text.

I'm Filipino, but I was born and raised here in the US, but now that i think about, we always had a huge chicken for holidays and stuff. Eee, but my aunt was telling me about that thing with the baby duck. Apparently they wrap the egg with the unborn chick in it with hay, like from a barn, and let it sit and like ferment or however you say it. SO not my choice!

Soapy, it seems like your messages show up in boldface by default. How do you do that? Sorry if I am doing something annoying by using bold face ... I do have a bit of a problem reading the text if it's too light in contrast; I'm used to using bold for that reason so I just do it automatically. I will desist.

Hi, Soapy! If it helps you read, please don't let our comments stop you! Better you should keep posting. Unless you meant this board is an exception and the regular white-on-black is fine for your eyes w/o the boldface, and that you were just doing it out of habit. Whatever you're comfortable with. Just my two cents.
