I know last night's episode put paid to Hee-joo's dreams, but to answer the question: I think she thinks that once she marries KJ, she will work her way into his affections. She simply cannot believe that he means what he says, and she never has. When has she ever taken NO for an answer? She's just like his mother in that. They just want to push people into position like pieces on a chessboard and then push them further into accepting whatever they want them to do. Once married, she would keep at him and make herself miserable that he wasn't starting to love her. It would be a huge nightmare for all.

She's such an optimist-has she forgotten how frustrated and crazy she got when he was indifferent before? But still she knows she'd feel like killing herself if he hurt her like that again-an optimist in denial. Could her father really have said ~maybe we should treat her as if she's dead to us~ Bite your tongue, and keep watch over her. ,

Pretty harsh there, Laurenb2b. Granted, Oh Joo-eun's cheeks are a little full, and she's neither the stunning beauty or oh-so-cute as some other actresses. But, neither were they before their plastic surgery*. *meow meow meow

Oh Joo-eun (aka Hee-joo) does not look like a rat. She's actually really pretty. Maybe it's the haircut in the show that's not working for her. Yeah....her character of Hee-joo is someone people love to hate. Didn't Oh Joo-eun say in an article that she was hesistant to take on the role of "Hee-joo"? She was chosen for the role, but she wanted to turn it down in fear that the audience would do what she expected after seeing her in this role: Hate her.

It's the haircut. Oh Joo-eun/Hee-joo is a beautiful, exotic looking woman. Similar to the girl who plays Sun-mi, who (last I saw) now has a cut that makes her look like a poodle, when before she had a nice, stylish, smooth 'do.
Bad hair, bad hair, how do we survive it? I know it ruined MY childhood. LOL.

wow! didn't know that my comment re heejoo looking like a mouse or rat would elicit so much replies. well, i read somewhere in soompi that somebody in this board actually called her a 'chipmunk'. anyway, is this the actress who played the jilted fiancee of kijoo of 'lovers in paris' and i think i saw her also in 'breathless' of eric mun. she's not as beauty but an effective, adequate actress othrerwise she wouldn't elicit so much reaction from her acting. i don't like her teeth though , badly capped i think. the dentists here in the philippines and of course in the u.s. are much better in fixing teeth. i've seen so many korean actresses whose teeth needs braces, retainers, treatments etc. is it de riguer for these actresses to undergo nose jobs, eyelifts, etc. etc.

What a mess it will be if Hee-joo marries Ki-joon. HJ, a rich educated women from a good family, has a gallery, everything going for her but she's still obsessed with KJ who doesn't even like her. There's no happiness when she tries to discuss their upcoming wedding with him. Just prior to the wedding announcement, she tried to drown herself.
I think HJ is so used to getting her way that she thinks that she can change KJ. She left home to move in with KJ's family as a way of getting her parents approval. It was funny how she's absent for breakfast whereas In-young was already up and making meals. There will be a clash of wills when HJ wants to sleep late, then refusing to help with the household chores. I doubt if she'll be saying "yes, mother" because she'll end up controlling her crazy MIL.

Lauren there seems to be some debate about whether Korean actresses actually get all that "work" done. It does seem like the sort of rumor that would be started when people are popular--and hallyu is certainly popular.

I'm sad for Hee-joo. Like sandy said, HJ has everything going for her. Yet, she is willing to throw it all away just to be with Ki-joon. It doesn't even matter that KJ doesn't love her....as long as he is with her, HJ is happy.

But I don't see how she can stay happy. Sure, he married her, but he's not being a husband to her. He's barely being neighborly. I don't think she can stay upbeat for long if he stays so distant and switched off. I feel sorry for her now, for the first time.

She's as annoying as SM... and she DOES look like some kind of rodent. forget hair... her face comes to a point. I'll be going to hell shortly for coming up with such a statement... but man, she KNEW what she was getting into... Ki-joon made it very clear She's getting back to the way she was before she left for America... she actually believes she can get Ki-Joon to make her happy even if she tells her parents otherwise. Ro-dent will continue to attack Ki-joon. She is beyond annoying. ok... I'm going to you know where now....

As much as I don't like Hee-joo, I do love how she's putting SM in her place, I've never seen anybody put SM down like this without having to even raise her voice, this is probably the only one redeemable thing about this show at this point, watching SM having a hard time.

I know! Ha ha! I'm watching these episodes because I heard of the problems and tensions that would arise between Ro-dent and SM. Those elephants were ugly, they looked like dollar store items. I feel like the saying "Be careful what you wish for because it might come true" is so applicable to both Hejoo and SM.
