LOL! That whole accidental seduction scene was funny. It's even funnier/sadder that she could actually overpower Sangsik. She's going to have to feed that boy some alfalfa or something to get him to beef up.
I guess Great Aunt is starting to warm up to Cha even though she doesn't want to. When they were all laughing (although when Grandpa says "laughing" what I actually hear him say is "ha, ha, ha, ha") about the fact that Dentist Aunt can't cook, she caught herself getting too comfortable and called him a bastard.

Sangsik and Hana are funny. She is even physically funny to me--like a big, galumphing horse or something. She is no ethereal model, that's for sure. She's very pretty, but she is a little on the big side for high-fashion modeling, isn't she? I guess that's why she does mostly Home Shopping Channel work. I got a kick out of the Cha scene in Saturday's episode, too, though I think he was overdoing it. Once he realized Grand Aunt was eating up his criticism of her daughter and they were bonding over it, he really played it up. I'm happy to see that she is unbending toward him a little. Can't wait till tomorrow's episode, and we see the aftermath of the hopping scene. I wonder if we will see him do all his feats of strength.

Yeah, you'd never see her on a cover of Vogue or anything like that, she's like 75 pounds over the limit for that. She'd probably be featured in their "plus size" section. Of course by this I'm not saying she's overweight, not at all, it's just that she's healthy looking. I think Lee Tae Ran is the prettiest of the korean actresses I've seen in dramas. When I see shows like "I want a famous face" all these girls always want such fake beauties like Pamela Anderson or the like but I would choose Lee Tae Ran as the famous face I would like to look like. Can't wait till tomorrow's episode, and we see the aftermath of the hopping scene. I wonder if we will see him do all his feats of strength. Man, he's going to be dizzy after doing all that hopping. I wonder why he had his arm across though, it seems like it would just be more uncomfortable.

I thought Lee Tae Ran originally was a model. Thank god she's about "75 pounds over limit" for modeling. Can you imagine? That would be too sad and emaciated. You're right, Gal-ck, she's gorgeous. I like Hana a lot more this time around, too, maybe because I saw her in YH and forgave her for being shrill here. Also, I understand her better because I'm seeing more background scenes. When they had that scene in Cho-hee's apartment and Sang-sik accidentally touched her, the look that crossed her face was brilliant. I don't think I remember seeing her be that subtle here.

LEE TAE RAN is actually very petite, she is 5'7" inches tall and weighs about 110 pounds. she is just tall for a korean actress, also tv always makes you look 10 to 15 pounds heavier. she also is very wide through the hips, which also makes her look heavier.and every one looks huge next to the anorexic goeun.

Yeah, Goeun is quite a stick, LOL. I think it's funny that they keep putting better-fitted clothing on her so it looks like they feed her up. She remains the same; the clothes just get smaller.

PS - picky Bo here. "Petite" actually refers to height, not slenderness. Yes, I know it means "small" in French, but we're not speaking French here.

That's interesting, toranaga. Everyone looks heavy next to skinny Ji-yeun, as well. I can't believe she's only 5'7"! The other actors must be quite small themselves if she's tall in comparison to the many others in the cast.
Not to be argumentative, though, but she can say her weight is whatever she wants. It's said that actresses and models always claim some ridiculously low weight, at least in the States, so you get like 5'11" models claiming to be 109 lbs. For a long time I believed them against my better judgment when I read stuff like that, but it seems to be an open secret that everyone lies. Why, I don't know; we can see for ourselves that they are fantastically thin and so the number doesn't matter. Just as many people lie about their age. There are certain actresses who claim to be in their late 40s/early 50s, and it's so obvious they are lying because I remember them from the '70s. I do agree that Lee Tae Ran is quite normal-looking and has a nice figure. Viva Hana!

SHE may be lying about her weight Lucy, but in any case she does look healthy. LEE TAE RAN is unique in the fact she has a look that is attractive to both eastern and western standards

Hey, that reminds me. Over on the DJG board, where we have a lot of Malaysians and Hong Kong people posting, they seem to agree that most if not all of the women who appear in Korean drama have had plastic surgery to make their features more Western. Has anyone else heard that claim? I seem to recall some discussion about having such surgery, but is it so very widespread?

Yes, I've heard that. Chae Rim has been criticized for having a lot of surgery. That tiny, cute nose of hers, for example, is thanks to a surgeon. I've wondered if Choi Ji Woo did the same; her face seems to me to "need" a larger nose. A while back, someone here posted a link to an article about how plastic surgery is rampant among the general Korean population, not just actors.

Oprah did a show on how the life of a typical 30 year old from various parts of the world is. I think they gave this huge percentage (40%?) of the population has had at least one plastic surgery. Korea is "the" place to go when you want to have the eyelid surgery done.

Well, I've been looking for an excuse to go to Korea. Maybe I'll get that eyelid surgery.

Well, I've been looking for an excuse to go to Korea. Maybe I'll get that eyelid surgery. You need an excuse to go to Korea? Sistah, I just need the money to go. I really, truly hope to go sometime in the next five years. Either there or Japan so I could go to Puroland, forget Disneyworld.
