What episode are we on? I was catching up on my WML tapes, and I'm not sure if I missed an episode or not. I watched one where Yoonsik and Jieun have dinner (or lunch) w/Dentist Aunt and Cha. That one I think ended with Goeun's parents telling her to turn over Joon to his dad. She calls Hyunsik and yells at him, the episode ends with her crying while on the phone.
I'm not sure if I missed the next one because the next tape I saw that had a WML episode was one where Jieun is fixing her and Hana a meal and then Hana tells her that besides her mom Jieun is the one who takes care of her the most. Hyunsik is waiting outside for Goeun and then she finds out that the father has already called Joon's dad and the grandma has taken him away. Goeun is devastated.
I programmed my VCR yesterday from 9-11:15 a.m. and saw that it recorded MPC and I'm Sorry I love you, but instead of WML some other show came on. Does anyone know what gives?

Gal-ck, I think you did miss an episode between the Goeun scene and the next eppie that you have on tape. As I recall, that was last Saturday's episode (episode 12, I think). On Friday's episode Go-eun's father has called Joon's father, whose own mother has come and taken Joon away. When Go-eun finds out, she screams and screams and faints, etc. Hyun-sik vows to do everything he can to help her get him back, starting with having a friend of his help her get a passport quickly. One of this week's episodes (I'm getting mixed up now--maybe you saw this part) showed her trying to get a passport to go after Joon, but because she threw away her passport when she returned to Korea, thinking that she'd never leave again, unfortunately she doesn't have any documentation of her status and it's totally impossible for her to get a visa. She even tried calling Joon's father (she snuck into her dad's address book and found the number, which he wouldn't give her before) to tell him she's not getting remarried and to send Joon back, but his father answered. Not only is Joon's father not there (he's in Mexico! while his son is being brought back to him in the US! Jerk.), but the grandfather says basically, "it's between the two of you and I don't want to get involved." Then hangs up. The next episode after that (I think) did indeed show Ji-eun and Hana in the kitchen. Didn't you love when Hana said, "I Looove Yuuu," and Ji-eun answers, "me too-oo"? It's funny when they do that "play marriage" thing. Like when Hana got into bed with Ji-eun and pretended she was a man (for a second).

I think the first episode Gal-ck is talking about is Episode 9, from Friday, April 8, because I just finished watching that. At the end of it, Goeun is crying and Hyun-sik is driving madly to pick her up.
The next episode (#10) starts with them in a cafe, and Goeun is telling HS that she doesn't want him, anyway, so stop making her life miserable. (Really, why should she care if her son is sent back to the evil man who keeps making women pregnant? Such a foolish girl.) Also, she finds out that he's the one who sicced her dad on her, so she leaves in a fury. Her dad tells her if she does not call the father immediately, he will do it for her. She tells him she's never marrying HS, and he yells at her for "speaking to me like that"--I guess she was not being respectful, but it was lost in the translation.
If you like, I'll post a recap after I watch it, because I'm not so far into it yet and I can take some notes.
There is a scene in #10 where Hana makes coffee for Jieun, and they discuss the "boys," but Hana forgets to put the water into the pot. So if you already saw this, let me know, but if not, I'll post some stuff for you.
This is my first real criticism of the show. They are portraying Goeun's father as a real ba-tard. He is so cold and unfeeling, it's hard to understand why Goeun would give a flying rat's ass for his comfort. I think the character is too one-sided at this point. The only clue you get that the parents care about Goeun at all is what the mother says, and she might be making it all up, for all we know.

Okay, I definitely missed an episode because I did not see the cafe scene between Goeun and Hyunsik nor did I see her dad call the jerk.
What was Friday and Saturday's episode about? I clearly had the tape to recorder to record from 9-11 and instead some infomercial for a foot product came out. I'm so confused. Today I just had it recorded from 9-12 and hope I don't miss the ep. otherwise I'll be P.O.*

Is your VCR set with the right clock time? When the time changes, I always forget to reset my tv/vcr clock because it does not do it automatically, and I lose eps. Also, could it be set for PM instead of AM (or vice versa)? Have you fooled around with the time parameters recently, could you have accidentally changed something? I've noticed that many times, it takes me two or three "looks" to figure out what's wrong, because my mind keeps seeing what it SHOULD be, instead of what it IS. If you know what I mean. Just askin'. I'm so mad because I know I recorded it right. I got the MPC child episode but I think that WML got preempted for some foot infomercial. That dad is horrible, not a cuddly papa bear at all!

I hope this transfers over from Word okay, cause I'm gonna do this in between my real work. I'm not doing it in strict order of scenes, but rather, disposing of each situation in a block. I think I said it was episode 10, but really, it's episode 12 you missed, eh? Ennywhoo...
Episode 12 starts with a meeting between Go-eun and Hyun-sik in a cafe. She cries pitiably and begs him not to pursue her any more, because he's just making her life miserable. She tells him that she'll not give up Joon for H-S. He ends up telling her that he's the one who asked her dad to get her to send Joon to his father. She runs home, has a fight with her parents, and grabs Joon away from them (actually, I may be remembering this from the previous episode, but you know, she's fighting with them all the time, so, what's one more or less...).
Meantime, younger grandpa (Duk-jin), Kyung-hwa and Kyung-ju are running a scam on 3d floor grandma (Duk-ja). They sit around the table in her apartment, pretending to "consider" whether K-H should date Duk-jin's "friend" Cha Myoung-hwan. This is pretty hilarious, because by the end of the conversation, they have Duk-ja in a position of ordering Kyung-hwa to date Cha, when she started out in complete opposition. Kyung-ju is particularly funny in this scene, she's obviously got a real talent for turning her mother on her head. (I think the reason I don't think of these two aunts as being almost 40 and 50 is that they ACT like they are 12 and 17.) The next morning, older grandpa (Duk-bae) lectures Duk-jin on getting K-H and Cha together, and not making any mistakes. K-H calls Cha to warn him about the scam, and Duk-jin visits him with the same news. They believe that Duk-ja will not know who Cha is, because she never recognized his name when Duk-jin mentioned it, and she's not the sort to forget the name of someone against whom she has a grudge.
Everyone goes in to breakfast. While serving, Sang-sik spills hot soup on his 'person'. This, too, is hilarious, with Yoon-sik demanding to see the burned part (as the family doctor persona), Grandpa Duk-bae yelling that he "burned his p---s" and Sang-sik demanding that one of his brothers get married so he won't have to carry soup. The burn is bad enough that S-S cannot wear pants and has to stay home from school, sitting around in a towel, fanning his--you know. Later that morning, as the grandparents are sitting around laughing at Sang-sik's predicament, he comes back to eat breakfast. Gr. Duk-bae tells him, it's no big deal, you'll have children, even the steam bath can't hurt "it." S-S feels relieved. Hanna happens to come by to exercise. She immediately spots the towel ("Why are you wearing that skirt?") and, learning that he is injured, demands to know where and how. Grandpa Duk-bae tells her, "He hurt his we-can't-tell-you-what." Of course, Hanna laughs at the poor boy and Grandma drags her upstairs, where she tells her what happened and they have a nice little friendly heart-to-heart. Hanna asks Grandma, "So, Halmoni, what do you look for in a granddaughter-in-law?" Subtle child.
Ji-eun and Yoon-sik continue to make calves' eyes at each other. He indicates his "lack" of interest in her to Sang-sik ("She's scary!"). Over coffee in the morning, Ji-eun & Hanna, while discussing the marital status of their mothers (H does not like the Professor, her mother's new husband), H tells J not to be so fussy about the eyelid thing, to ignore it, but J says, how can you not see it? But, she stops at his office that evening, after school, to chat. He says she is a changeable person, and she agrees. They are clearly getting those feelings for each other and seem to be more aware of it. Sometime in here, Hee-gap (boys' dad) comes home late after drinking and tells Grandpa Duk-bae that he is depressed about Hyun-sik's miserable fate, but Grandpa says, don't worry, she (meaning Go-eun) will be forgiven over the years as she gives us grandchildren. Also, Yoon-sik talks to Hee-gap, tells him that he thinks Go-eun needs more time because she is not brazen, but that everything will work out. I think the dad asks Y-S why he does not date Ji-eun, and Y-S again says, she's scary.
Some incidental scenes are: K-H working with one of her dental patients. Younger grandpa and Kyung-ju in the cafe (I can't remember what they discussed.) Yoon-sik having a disagreement with a vet client over why her dog is getting a rash and the staff interacting with other clients, too. While Y-S is at the clinic, he gets a mysterious call, which I'll talk about next paragraph. Hanna goes over to S-S's place with some ice cream, but he just insults her intellect and morals and refuses to eat the ice cream. Hanna eats some, then takes it over to top-floor Grandma, where they have a conversation about the heavy load of housework and about Grandma's perfume. After Hanna leaves, the Grandparents have a conversation with each other, but I can't recall it.
Anyway, the call to Y-S was Go-eun, wanting him to get H-S off her back before her parents can send Joon away. She assures him that she does not love H-S and has no intention of marrying him even if she didn't have Joon. Y-S walks home to the cafe, to talk with Kyung-ju, but she is upstairs with a headache. We see scenes of Hyun-sik conducting a large meeting, and also one of Go-eun shopping for clothes (it's weird, too, she seems all calm and happy--maybe she figures Y-S will fix it for her). Y-S calls the construction site (this might be the next morning) and goes there to visit H-S. Y-S tells H-S that Go-eun does not love him and stop making a fool of yourself ("I think you're excited by yourself" -- LOL), but H-S says, no, it's just the child, she really loves me, I can't give her up.
So, Go-eun finally walks home and her mother drags her a little further than the shop and begs her to let them send Joon away because it's for her own good. Go-eun says she will never "throw Joon away" and runs into the house. G's dad is holding Joon, and orders Go-eun to "separate from him" by letting him stay in their room from then on. Go-eun grabs the child and runs to her room, where we see her weeping and crooning over him, telling him she'll always protect him. In the other room, G's dad is demanding to know if Mom "told her anything" but Mom assures him she didn't reveal that they'd called the father of Joon. He says, "We'll have them come get him when she's not here, what can she do about it." Mom feels like a rat. Dad really is one.
Bo
PS - Gosh. I hope this is the right episode, LOL.

Kamsahamnida Onni! Ten thousad bows to you! I did not see this episode, although it might be 13, not 12. I checked yesterday’s tape to make sure it had recorded it and the latest episode we’ve seen is #14, so either I missed two episodes or maybe it’s ep. 13 and not 12 that you described.
I’m so mad I missed that classic scene where Sangsik burns his “valuables”. You are so right about the two maiden aunts, they’ve had to learn some tricks to get around Aunt’s cranky, crabby, love-saboteur ways. Besides they are 30 and 40 because Quilting Auntie is in her late 30s and Dentist Auntie I think they said is 48.

I love telling anyone who'll listen what "happened" on the show, LOL. I wonder if they're fiddling with the ages of the aunts in the scripts, or if Michael was rounding up the ages when he first began translating, because it started out saying they were 40 and 50 in some of the earlier dialogue. They didn't seem quite that old to me--although as I say, they act like teenagers. Bo PS - if the last episodes we've seen from this past weekend are numbers 13 and 14, then my "script" is of No. 12, because I have not seen the last two, yet.

My recording Monday morning got WML ep 13, and Tuesday's recording got ep 14. I think there might have been a short infomercial between MPC and WML - try taking a look further along the tape.

I might have recorded over it already then. Maybe it's just my tape that screwed up, I don't know or some kind of weird time warp thing because I'm Sorry I Love You did show up. Aigu! I'll just stop thinking about it, otherwise I'll need my smelling salts. Okay, so then I guess I missed episode 12 and 13. Bo..wouldn't you love to be a sweetheart and give me a recap of thirteen too. *kicks dirt and looks down*

Bo..wouldn't you love to be a sweetheart and give me a recap of thirteen too. *kicks dirt and looks down* Of course I'd love to be a sweetheart, but you'll have to wait a couple of days until I can watch it (YSS is in the viewer right now). I'll take notes and give them to you as soon as I can. Meantime, maybe some of you others can give her some details? Hmm? Bo
