Poor Hyunsik, he's trying so hard to have Gouen in his life but neither his family or Gouen herself are agreeing to it.
I felt so bad for him but also laughed at how he was crying underneath his covers after the dad told him that this was impossible. So cute!
Another tear inducing scene was Yoonsik telling Jieun about his mom. He obviously still misses her sorely. He's so sensitive. I think Jieun is starting to get a crush on him judging by some smirks she's sent his way or when she comes out of the vet office.

I'm glad I'm taping the repeat; I'd like to see these scenes (today and tomorrow) again. When Ji-eun and vet guy (Yoonsik?) were having kopi at the cafe, right after he said he didn't mind her saying he had chicken eyes, "because they look like chicken eyes to me now, too," she stole a little look at him while he was looking down, and when I saw the expression on her face, I thought to myself, "There! right there is where she's starting to fall in love with him." They are so cute. I love his good humor and simple ways. I thought he was only pretending that time when he told his arranged date that he used to stammer really badly, so that she would go away (because it obviously bothered her when he did it a little). But apparently not; he also did it while talking to Ji-eun. That's kind of cute, too. But I thought it was a little freaky when he was talking to JE and framed their kiss in terms of her taking something from him. I never heard of a 30-year-old man being so inexperienced and virginal that he would feel violated by a peck on the lips; that's a little too much, IMO. If I were going to be involved with a guy, even if he were as chaste as the driven snow, I wouldn't want him to have such an attitude toward being touched and to place such importance on a first kiss at his age. I also wouldn't want to be made to feel like a sexual predator over something like that. OK, he didn't go that far, but he was being a little too sensitive about it.

I'm glad I'm taping the repeat; I'd like to see these scenes (today and tomorrow) again. I was watching today's episode to see what parts they took out from the Fri/Sat airings and was surprised that they threw in a commercial right after Hyunsik tells Goeun that he's hungry and gets up, after the commercial was over, it began at the part where they're at the restaurant and Goeun storms out of the place, they totally cut out the conversation between the two, Hyunsik tells her he wants to marry her...so for those who watched or about to watch today's airing (assuming you've taped it), just wanted to let you know why Goeun got up and left like that.

So then, the re-airings on Monday and Tuesday have more scenes in them? I'll have to remember that.
You are right about Yoonsik with his Never Been Kissed syndrome. I mean if he really did want to save his first kiss for his beloved, then he would have ducked or something. It wasn't even much of a kiss, it was just a peck. But it was funny how big a deal he was making it--didn't he even say something about him feeling as though he'd lost his virginity or purity or something along those lines.
Dentist Aunt seems to be falling for Cha. It's fun to watch them because first she insults him and makes him squirm and then she ends up doing what he asks anyway.

"NBK Syndrome"-- Yes, he did say that. And one thing I can't figure out, he said that she had "conquered" his "small lips" like Neal Armstrong on the moon--did he mean that as a good thing (his lips belong to her now) or a bad thing (she's ruined his purity)? Remember when he told his father that the reason he has to look away from women is that he feels that if he looks at them too long he wants to grab them and kiss them? In one of the first episodes, when he was hooking up the girls' stereo equipment, I couldn't figure out why he abruptly and rather dramatically looked away from Ji-eun (I think he even covered his face). The guy is a little squirrely, let's face it. But he's a good egg, and anyone who is so kind to animals is A-OK in my book. (He had me at "close the door; it's cold for the children." )

Hey, ovaridedis, I have a question. YOU seem to be saying that the Monday/Tuesday reairings, have stuff cut out, while Gal-ck seems to think you are saying that they have extra stuff IN. Which is correct? That is, which have more scenes, the nighttime showings or the morning ones?

I think it's just loser galacticchick that reads too fast. Now that I re-read it, it seems to be that the Fri/Sat eps. have more stuff IN and overidedis was explaining to the Mon/Tues crowd a scene that was cut out.

I didn't get this analogy either. I'm guessing that he meant she had ventured into unchartered territory or something along those lines. The guy is a little squirrely, let's face it. But he's a good egg, and anyone who is so kind to animals is A-OK in my book. (He had me at "close the door; it's cold for the children." ) LOL! First he gets called chicken eyes, then squirrely. Poor Yoonsik. I did like that line of his. He hugs the little puppies and talks to them: so cute.

I'm actually suprised that Yoonsik had never kissed before that. In one of the episodes aired this weekend, a female customer came in and was disappointed that he wasn't at the office - said that he was the nicest of them. Now that I think about it, owning a vet's office (like walking a dog in the park) is probably a pretty good way to pick up women, and it seems like some of his customers have tiny crushes on him.
I guess that just goes to show his incredible (but amusing) ineptitude with women.

Yeah, I know that a (hypothetical) veterinarian is pretty much my dream man, and Yoonsik is a decent example of the genus, so I could see my starting to like him if he were my cat's vet and I knew he was single . . . .

Maybe you should try visiting different vets and then just buying bogus items like a toy or something (so you won't spend a fortune) until you find your Yoonsik.

Which is correct? That is, which have more scenes, the nighttime showings or the morning ones? They seem to have stuff cut out, Ex: Back in episode 5 or 6 the Fri/Sat airings, after a commercial there was a scene where the Cranky Grand Aunt and her daughters were in her room and she was upset asking why Grand Uncle called her a 'pervert'...the Mon/Tues airing had the scene where he calls her that. It's really weird with the Mon/Tues airings because sometimes they'll have stuff they've taken out from Fri/Sat and sometimes they'll show whatever that was on Fri/Sat but without the commericals. I'm sorry for any confusions, I hope this helped ;D

Maybe I could develop "Munchausen-by-proxy" syndrome--you know, that's the mental illness where a parent with a young child makes up a ton of symptoms and illnesses so he or she can bring the child in for lots of procedures and get attention from doctors (a very rough description, BTW)--on behalf of my cat. (Poor baby, no!)

I guess you could always check which vet clinics have websites and plan your trips on the profile of the vet and, if you're lucky, their picture.
