Interesting article posted at Samurai-Archives.com board about a Japanese man’s eyewitness account of a sword duel between a Ronin and three samurais when he was a little boy. Check it out.

I’m thinking it took place during the Tokugawa Shogunate just before/after Admiral Perry and his US Navy squadron’s arrival or maybe up to when the new Japanese federal government ban people from carrying swords in public during the Meji Restoration.
