Nomar's injured. Why? Why must this happen. I'm sick. I'm going to bed.

GeneralDu, you should complain. There are people who stole your NoMore joke. Yankee fans. Everything's funny but the Yankees. Incidentally, Dempster has improved, and is now too good to trade for Brown. You'll have to buy your own cheese sandwich.

I had posted this on the Cubs board, regarding whether other SS's should have been acquired: I see this differently. Nomar has been a wonderful baseball player, and as a person in NY I had seen him at his best. He was the kind of guy that could almost demoralize the opposition singlehandedly. He killed you with his hitting, and robbed you in the field. Even against the Yankees when they were good, he was always a concern. Yes, I am a Cubs fan, but tell me when a guy like this, who obviously was determined to show his caliber, chose the Cubs specifically as the team he wanted to come back to. If the Cubs win, it will owe a tip of the cap to Nomar for showing these guys that being a Chicago Cub is a worthy calling.

Incidentally, Dempster has improved, and is now too good to trade for Brown. You'll have to buy your own cheese sandwich. I'm pursuing copyright litigation as we speak. Because of their advanced ages, about half of the Yankees spend serious time on the disabled list during a given season which is just a grim fact of life in baseball's long compaign. Despite Garciaparra's great misfortune, Cub's fans shouldn't unduly despair for their team's chances. Boston did fairly well after Nomar's departure as did Seattle after A-Rod decided to pursue the cash trail to Texas, etc. instead of the championship trail. It's about 25 guys (10 of them need to be good pitchers) and not about overrated superstars. As to the issue of humor, the Yankees hace a rich and diverse history of comedy from quipsters such as Lefty Gomez and Graig Nettles to fuzzy headed philosophers such as Casey Stengel and Yogi Berra. I think many people fail to appreciate the great tradition of Yankee comedy because they are distracted by all of the Championships. Or as Yogi once said (actually during his time as a coach for the Mets) to an umpire, "You'd have to be blind not to hear that!"

It's a sad commentary on YSS that this is currently just about the busiest thread in both YSS forums!

Bo I guess some people don't get your humor. Too bad for them. It is pretty funny that BB is the hot topic in the forum.

Well, they're calling up a Cedeno who hits .345 at AAA. Not the guy from the Mets. It'll be his ML debut. Neifi is in now, and he's OK. The Cubs have too many injuries. I still think things will go well. Chigirl said 2008 series win. I'm hoping for sooner. GeneralDu, I was listening to 880 AM; Forget the sandwich.

Due to Friday's rainout, you will see the prior pitcher on Sunday, so it won't be Prior pitching. Prior to Prior would be Wood, although I'm sure Prior would like to pitch. Would Wood, being prior to Prior, be unable to pitch, Prior would pitch, unless they would go prior to Wood in the rotation.
