It's both. It looks like Yi Soon Shin's time when he was stationed on the northern frontier. Kinda looks low budget.

OK. I watched the trailer. The North and South Korean soldiers who were fighting over a nuclear bomb were sent to the time when Yi Sun-shin failed to pass the national exam and became a dead end young man. The (North and South) Korean soldiers who have admired admiral Yi Sun-shin in the history was shocked at the lazy life of the future great admiral. They told him "you will be a great man in the future!" but he did not believe it. So, the soldiers are united to train YSS's body and mind like a modern-day soldier... etc. Hmm.... I think "The Immortal YSS" is far better than the movie at least in action scenes. (Ep. 74 was great! )

Oops, I forgot to say where the nuclear bomb is. Unfortunately, it seems to fall into the Jurchen's hand. This movie is not about Imjin War, but about young Yi Sun-shin.

Interesting. But is Chun-su in it? (just kidding)

This movie is going to be released in South Korea from July 15th, 2005. Of course not. ;D But, I guess, the young YSS of the movie seems to be a character like Chun-su in the earlier episodes of IYSS. In the movie trailer, YSS was put behind bars with the modern soldiers on a theft charge.

For a fantasy fictional work, I liked the premise but after reading the rest of this thread it's starting to sound a little cheesy. Why do they need to make YSS a coward? Anyone see the 1978? movie, "The Final Countdown" starring Kurt Douglas? It's about a modern aircraft carrier and crew that goes through a storm at sea and is transported back in time before the pearl harbor attack in 1941. They had a chance to rewrite history by intercepting the Japanese but they had to go back to their time. I was geared to seeing an all-out battle between 1940's aircraft and our modern fighter planes. But just watchig the Japanese pilot's astonished reaction upon seeing those f-14's? was classic. Now that's the standard I go by for time-travel-through-history-what-if-senario-flicks" The point is the writers didn't have to change the facts of history itself to put it into a fictional story. Changing YSS's character to fit the fiction is bad bad bad.

I think I change my mind about wanting to see this movie putting cheesiness aside. The trailer looks pretty awesome

Seems more like science fiction than anything. I'll bet it's going to be funny.
