Oh, I have to say it's cool to see other LOTR fans namely Eowyn and Alexa. I'm Aragorn in my other online identity. Moreshige, I am a HUGE fan of LOTR!!!! For the premiere of the 3rd one, we waited for 4 hours before it started. So we were basically at the theatre for a little over 7 hours. It was fun though. And I wont tell you how many times we've had LOTR Movie Marathons at my friends house

You have another one here. I am actually a big JRRT fan. I had to read the hobbit freshman year in English calss and I got hooked and my brother (10 yrs older) had LOTR and let me read his. I just need the collectors edition of the return of the king to complete the trilogy on DVD. But that will have to wait for my tax return. Sticking with the LOTR theme...This is pretty cool. It's a newspaper ad for the Chicago Wolves Hockey team Wolves adCool. I had to read "The Hobbit" for summer reading before freshman year of HS too! Ever since then I got hooked.

you can add me to female who soley likes the historical dramas. i like the dramas that are greatly based on historical facts, events and people. the longer ago they took place, the better. i like seeing how they lived, how they thought about themselves and the world as they knew it. i like seeing how they dressed, how they fought and how they loved. since i mostly feel out of place in this time period, that may be another reason i am drawn to the historical dramas, and i would also add that i prefer the korean ones (perhaps in a previous life this was my home . and last but certainly not least, i am crazy about warriors.

You see, the last few minutes of the movie the sound was all screwed up. The sound somehow moved ahead of the pace of the film. And the next thing you know I heard a lot groans and what almost sounded like the start of a mini-riot. Fortunately, the manager came out and apologized and decided to refund our tickets. What a great night.

Ok, so you don't care for korean modern drama at all.

Hmmm. So far it looks like I'm mostly getting responses from the historical drama fans. C'mon, modern drama fans, I need your input too! Maybe, it's because this is YSS tangents thread.

Oh you're talking about the dvd that comes with the castle sculpture? You betcha. I have the other 2. The bookends of the Arganath from the first movie are really nice. I'm not too thrilled about the gollum sculpture from the second DVD tho. I saw the third one and it's pretty cool too.

There are 8, only 3 of whom likes or watches only historical dramas. Now we are 4. I'm relieved at the fact that I'm not 1 out of 99. ;D

How about a historical drama like "Sang-do"? No warriors; it was about merchants. But it was still a Historical Drama You do make a good point. I based my assumptions on only a few recent korean historical dramas. If I'm correct, I also remember "Cho kwang jo" was also a non-violent historical drama among others. Maybe I should have categorized between mainly non-romantic dramas which includes most historical dramas if not all vs. romantic soapy modern dramas. If some of you remember the series, "moreshige", is a political historical drama with the story set in the 1980's. Yeah, "Cho kwang jo" and "Sang-do" are war-free historical dramas. As I have ten years lacuna of korean drama, I could'nt watch both of them unfortunately. "Moreshige" is the last Korean drama I viewed in Korea. I remember there are some violent scenes with Choi Min-Soo and his fellows. I think your survey on Historical drama vs. Modern drama is very interesting, moreshige (person not drama).
