The thread " Guess YSS aired just in time" inspired the poetic atrocity which follows:
So the Japanese want Dokdo? I just can't believe that it's true. They've been really good neighbors, Never rattling their sabers (Well at least not since World War II).

Dokdo Isle
Or, A Vision In A Dream. A Fragment.
To old Dokdo, the Japanese Territorial claim did lay Where all the sea birds freely rest Cause it's a d**n good place to nest With mankind far away.
But it's a place hard to pass by With great piles of poop from sea to sky Where those in Tokyo can't wait to frolic. In this spot where none in Korea go Japanese see a retreat, bucolic? Seoul really needs this to add to its woe?

Actually, generaldu, and I'm just reaching back down into the dark recesses of my mind library here, isn't bird poop quite valuable? No, really--guano = money. Can't remember the exact application. Well, besides statue rotting.

Well, besides statue rotting. Bo You are quite right. Because of its high nitrogen content guano is an excellent fertilizer. Some islands off the west coast of South America are an abundant source (enough to support a "harvesting" industry) with marine iquanas being among the principle depositors.

What is apparently an old commemorative verse has recently been unearthed. It may seem sacrilegious but some have suggested that it be sung to a certain Lennon and McCartney tune although I'm not sure which one they have in mind.
In the time of old Chosun Lived a man named Yi Soon Shin Having built a turtle boat Told his men to get on in.
So they strained at all the oars And fired the cannons too Such a happy, happy bunch Were this YSS's crew!
They all loved their little turtle boat, Little turtle boat, little turtle boat.
They all loved their little turtle boat, Little turtle boat, little turtle boat.
Japanese were not allowed Too small a boat for such a crowd So he drove them all away.
They all loved...(repeat chorus)
As they nestle in the bay All their foes stay far away There's no need to brag or gloat In their little turtle boat.
They all loved...(repeat chorus twice)

Y'know, General, I think my favorite part of that whole ditty is: (repeat chorus)
Most reputable.

So young Chohee must go away Cause Yi Soon Shin ought not to stray And this may all be very well son To hold Yi higher than old Nelson.

In yet another troubling development, the restless soul of Woody Guthrie, the eternal champion of the downtrodden, has in the after life become, somehow, confused with that of a Japanese militarist.
Well see for yourself:
This land's not your land, this land is my land From old Korea, on over to Thailand From the Arctic Circle, on down to Australia This land was made for us, not you.
As we went sailing, around the Pacific We saw many lands, they looked terrific If we send an army, they'll run right through This land was made for us, not you.
We've killed and pillaged, and we've followed our demons Through the fertile fields of our helpless neighbors And even though, you may be objecting This land was made for us not you.
Our sun is shining, as we're patrolling The half of the planet, that we're controlling As our greedy leaders keep on ranting This land was made for us not you.
