Hi, Galacticchick! Good for you for going! It sounds like it was sort of worth it. Did your brother go? Did you have the Polaris necklace already? I have the $14 cheapie from YesAsia and like it a lot, but that 14K one sounds nice. Lucy P.S. What was in the goodie bag?? Lucy-chan My brother did go and I am so grateful because it is so darn dark out in the suburbs. I guess it's because most of the people who live out there drive. I didn't have the Polaris necklace but I was thinking of one getting made so I guess it's good that I have the cell phone charm to demonstrate how it should look like. I can't afford what was probably platinum and diamonds so I'll go for sterling silver and cubic zarconias ;D The goodie bag was more bag than goodie. There was a little book on what you can expect when you travel to Korea. Actually more like a guide for each of the provinces and what they have to offer. Then there was a mug. Then a flyer from JAL airlines (I have to look at it again because I think the airfare wasn't too bad--$999). A poster advertising visitng Gangwon Province with a picture of Yoonsama and Yujin hugging and it says "Winter Sonata" on the side. I'm pretty sure that was it.

Are they just taking us for granted, or do they feel more potential in other markets? Who knows, but I can't understand the logic behind it. We are one of the richest countries in the world, they know that people living in this rich country are interested in something that only they can offer, you would think that they would use that to their advantage and lure us. Not that we even really need luring, we just need information and a little recognition. That's GC's $0.02 (two cents) I'm sorry if I sound like a snob to anyone, I sometimes lack eloquence but I'm trying to express myself as best I can.

GC-ssi, Oh, thank you for the honorific! I am now in the rarefied company of Kitty-chan and Yon-sama. Hm, that's some goodie bag ; if they gave that out at the Oscars, the red carpet would be strewn afterwards with discarded pamphlets. But the mug sounds good. Glad you were not alone. Your brother sounds like a game fellow. You had yourselves quite an adventure! take care, Lucy

OH MY GOODNESS!! The Sheraton in Elk Grove?! That's so close to me!! Free buffet and prizes? I really want to go. Hopefully, I can convince someone to go with me (meaning: drive me ). Did you go Jenny? I saw one other non-korean female there but I just kind of smiled and didn't say hi. Or was that someone else from here?

You are a wonderfully devoted, full-fledged fan who is attached to her beloved K-Dramas (like SO many of us!) We spend a VERY large amount of time watching Channel 28 AND reading & writing posts on this board. Quite a number of us buy Korean drama (English-subtitled) DVD's and CD's/OST's. So, please do not apologize for your opinion. In fact, I agree with you 100%. The numbers of us who are LOYAL viewers and fans continue to rise. (Some station execs must be aware of our value or they would not have initiated the now-infamous "Raffle Contest"). Anyway, the sheer numbers of non-Korean speaking viewers in this area, along with the continually improving quality of K-dramas being aired SHOULD lend itself to more community-type activities geared toward our increasingly-important viewing group. Thank you for speaking up!
