you're both so right ... my priorities are so messed up here. While I am clueless as to where you both live, I will think of you as I'm sipping my 3rd glass of wine at 8:15.
Thank you for humbling me on this 14th day of February, Valentines day no less!
This dinner is a kickoff to our book club ... DaVinci at DaWrobels ... I'm very thankful for a working VCR... and even more thankful for this KBC TV FAN CLUB.

Kathleen--why don't you sit your guests down in front of the TV and watch Episode 24 together? Or better yet, invite all of us who live nearby, and we can all sit down and watch it and sip some wine.
I noticed the head thing too. My first reaction was that he was going to faint. The second was that he was having flashbacks--running away from his meeting with the professor, etc. And I'm not sure--I don't think we are supposed to be.
I watched Episode 21 again this morning--watched it Friday night too. I was especially aware of the music this time. When Sanghyuk was telling his dad that JS is Mihee's son, and again when SH's dad was having coffee with JS, there was this busy little tune playing, on the piano, just a single note, no harmony, and it kept saying "Questions, Questions, Questions".
The scene where JS and Yujin are playing in the snow and JS kept throwing the snow up in the air and letting it fall on Yujin was exactly like the scene in the school yard where JS was throwing leaves up into the air and letting them come down like snow.
Remember, a good ending must be a surprise and yet inevitable.

This reminds me, OT, of my favorite thing about the subtitles. When someone makes that "Uh?" noise, signifying confusion or need for further explanation, in the subtitle there's just a single question mark. I think it's cute for some reason.

"Remember, a good ending must be a surprise and yet inevitable "... so wise. It's wonderful to be this close to the end and not have any firm conclusion ... except that we know that Joonsang will not be marrying Cherin.
Plopping my guests in front of the TV would never work... they would be clueless .. not like you guys who are so appreciative of this culture and intellect.
DaVinci at DaWrobels - Back in OCT 04 my friend Nancy and I began plans to have a bookclub. PeopleEatingReadingChattingYukking (Percy is the name of Nancy's dog) ... There will be nine of us ... but only 7 can make this dinner. I will hand out the SAVE THE DATE card for our first reading of DaVinci.... my last name is Wrobel so I just added the Da for consistency.
ok... I live in Oak Park... are any of you in the Chicago area? See, we could have a WLS discussion group ... record it... and send it to KBC-TV Channel 28 ... They would be so impressed with our insight.
Way off the subject ... the mail just came. Last week I ordered a book for one of our teachers ... MY NAME IS YOON --- it's about a little girl making the transition to American ways. It's so beautiful!!!!
I digress. Happy Valentine's Day one and all.

Hey, Kathleen, I'm in Chicago, as are many (most?) of us here. So I'll be thinking of you on Saturday at 8:15 at your dinner party, biting your nails until you can shoo your guests out of the house and see what's happening with Bae and Co. Oh, I see, "The Da Vinci Code" is your book? That should make for an interesting discussion. Hope you have a great time. Don't forget the pasta! Lucy

yes...The DaVinci Code... but I'm serving Thai ... ordering from my favorite OakPark restaurant... this dinner is to introduce and launch the PBC - Percy Book Club... Last year we had a martini party to discuss Devil in the White City... a fine, lasting memory I'll tell you!
We weren't an official book club then ... so this is a variation on a theme.
So if we had read WLS do you think we could have come up with such perfect casting for the parts? Don't think so.

I think that Mihee is being lied to. She was led to believe the possiblility that J. was fathered by her husband. Why should she believe that Kang woman? That lady lied to her own son for years by implanting phony memories in his brain. I think that she is also lying to Sang Hyuk's father. I think that he is J.'s real father which would make Sang Hyuk his half brother which would be a great way to end the program. By the way, SangHyuk really redeemed himself to me and brought honor to his character by telling J. to marry anyway. He was so honest when he said that if it were him he would just run off. I think he would have. What a great episode. Superb acting all around. Supporting characters great too. I really like the guy who works for J. He should get together with the gal who works at Polaris with Yujin. was mi-hee married? i think she got joon-sang out of wedlock. ps: who are u refering to? that kang woman is mi-hee

(Mihee is actually Joonsang's mother) and yes she had him out of wedlock. Kathleen, I must confess I to have a dinner to go to on Saturday. Where are MY priorities??? Well thank goodness for vcr's!!!!!!! I'm going to be going crazy at the dinner, just thinking about Joonsang and Yujin ;D

oh man! kindered spirits are WE!!! your saving grace is that you didn't plan the dinner... I did... I chose the date/time... you're being a gracious guest and I'll be the anxious hostess.
I'm certain that you will enjoy your dinner.... and I will mine... but Jonsang and Yujin... THAT is where my heart will be.

Yesterday I re-watched the part of the episode in which Joon-sang has a "spell" and has to sit down, and I found that he did not have a flashback. At least, he didn't have one that was shown, and we otherwise always seem to "see" what he's seeing in his flashbacks. Maybe it was just a red herring, but I wonder if we're supposed to make something of that moment of headache or dizziness or whatever it was.

I also thought that it might have just been a headache or he's stressed about his situation with Yu-jin?
Mi-hee is so bad if she's going to not let her son marry Yu-jin because of her long time grudge against Yu-jin's dad of not marrying her. I know that she wouldn't want Yu-jin to be her daughter-in-law, but she's so selfish. She lost her only love and that was painful enough. But if she's going to let her son lose his love due to her selfish actions then she's just terrible.

But if she's going to let her son lose his love due to her selfish actions then she's just terrible... Yeah! She's no better than one of those guys who checks into a hospital and pretends to almost die just to get some girl who has been his best friend for his whole life to marry him, when he clearly knows she's in love with another person and would be terribly unhappy married to him and...oh, wait, you all FORGAVE him...
