So what did you think about the first two episodes of WLS? I only caught a portion of Friday's episode and didn't get to watch Saturday's since I wasn't in town. I hear that this particular drama was a huge hit in Japan.

I watched both episodes, and I thought it was okay. It looks like a cute drama about first love. It looks like it's going to be about another love triangle. I'm going to continue watching it to see how it all develops.

It looks very good, and the characters and actors are great . They do look very adult for being 10th grade students, so I see the passage of time being introduced soon (maybe 5-10 years). I do wish that the episodes would be shown in their entirety, though, as the re-editing job makes it harder to follow. Otherwise, it's great!

Acting is good, I think. It has a nice mix of humor and exaggeration that fits in with the High School age of the characters.
There is the love triangle, but also the question of what's going on with father-son relationship and how that plays off the girl's mother & father.
Relaxing, light-hearted with a dash of drama! I will keep watching Fri/Sat, even though Damo is done.

I also missed Saturday's episode so I have to catch the re-run of it. I saw the last half of Friday's episode. So far I like the drama. Yes, it does look like another love-triangle: Joon-sang, Yu-jin, and Sang-hyuk. I'll write more after viewing the re-runs. BTW, isn't Yu-jin's sister, Hee-jin adorable?!

I'm worried that it'll turn into another scary related love story - you noticed that the picture that Joon-soon (sp?) was carrying around had Yu-jin's father in there with Sang-hyuk's (sp?)? And Joon-soon's mom had her arm around Yu-jin's father (and not Sang-hyuk's). My k-drama mindset has been tainted by Damo.

I know, I noticed the same thing. What if the man Joon-Sang thinks is his father, is not? Joon-Sang only had a piece of the photo, he didn't have the whole photo. So obviously he doesn't know that there was another man in that picture and that, that man is Yu-Jin's father. I don't want it to turn out like Damo did, it's to complicated.

I noticed the picture too. I think that the theme of a separated family finding itself and coming together is powerful in Korean culture.

I like it! Good filming. I really liked episode 3, and how they handles the ad hoc funeral ... Colette

Bae Yong Joon (Joon-Sang) is most famous actor in Asia now. I watced this drama over 10 times. I even had a chance to see him face to face. He is very nice and friendly.

He is a very good actor. Where did you meet him, Grace? Has he been to the U.S.?

I'm posting a little late here because I'm taping the show but didn't watch the first episodes until last Wednesday night. Can I just say, I LOVE this show. As usual, I'm a little annoyed by the heroine, though she's interesting and kind of sweet. I especially love the locations, and that extended sequence in the snow, when they were teenagers, is incredibly beautiful. I'm glad they're using it for the credits. The part where they made snowmen and Joon-sang made them kiss was very cute. I also like the way he said to her, "What's up with the lip?" (because she gave the snow-woman an open mouth made out of twigs). I like seeing some varied locations, like the countryside going by outside the bus windows and the school. I'm sorry it seems to be shaping up into another tortured love triangle, since poor Sang-hyuk is so deserving. Too bad she didn't leave him behind rather than getting engaged to him, so that he wouldn't have to suffer while she goes through all that "lost love" longing and confusion. Two other things: I agree with Cherin that Yu-jin's grown-up hairdo is "an ugly bowl cut." And, with all due respect to the popularity of Bae Yong Jun (Joon-sang), I think Sang-hyuk is the real hunk here. He's like a Korean Paul McCartney (in his Beatle days, of course). Yummers! I think Joon-sang is very attractive at times, but I have to say, in the scene on the street where adult Yu-jin sees the person who looks just like JS coming toward here, he looks like a WOMAN. Like a fashionable businesswoman, in fact, with his jaunty cloak, hipster eyeglasses, full lips, and flowing lightened hair. P.S. Thanks, Michael, for using the relationship names (like "younger sister") and explaining them. Great job with the subtitles in general.

I met him at Korea and Taiwan. Bae Yong Joon traveled to Taiwan for opening his first movie "Untold Scandal". BYJ visited to U.S. many times. Usually he stayed at L.A. If you like to see his drama. I recommend you to see "Hotelier".
