I really miss watching this drama It was something to look forward to on Mondays and Tuesdays. Especially because Mondays are the hardest day of the week for me, you know, going back to work after 2 days off. But at least with YSS I actually wanted it to be Monday. I didn't really care for the new drama thats on right now. oh well I guess I'm going to have to wait for YSS to come out on dvd.

I miss it, too. Alexa. Yesterday, I replayed my IYSS video to see the first battle (Okpo), and then the second battle(Sacheon)... the third... the last battle... Oh my god, it's so addictive.

I feel the same way...the week seems to go by slower now that IYSS is off the air.

I don't like Mondays anymore because of it! Don't forget to write Channel 28 and let them know how you feel. Chant with me: Genghis Khan... Genghis Khan...Genghis Khan or Emperor of the Sea...Emperor of the Sea...Emperor of the Sea... Rerun Emperor Wang Guhn...Rerun Emperor Wang Guhn...Rerun Emperor Wang Guhn... It's bad, isn't it?

LOL! We can stand outside the KBC station with signs that read "EMPEROR OF THE SEA" (or any other historical drama) that'd be funny, and we might even get to be on the news. I can see it now "Korean drama fans are outraged at the fact that KBC will not be airing historical dramas anytime soon."

We can email them now! Did you see the new web site. I am not sure if a hand written letter on paper or an email would be more effective. Maybe both. I'm up for Empror of the sea. I may order a copy from ebay if I get a good bonus on my next check.
However re-airing some of the historicals I have not seen would be perfect for me.

I'm so pleased to 'hear' everyone's comments about IYSS
and I do agree. The M and TU story is ok.. but so far hasn't gotten me to the point where I'm so pleased that it's coming on. YIKES. when WML goes off that will be yet another transition.
I like the idea of going to KBC ...all of you who are taking the Korean Lanaguage class could make signs and the rest of us can just memorize the sounds you make. That would be very effective, don't you think?

That would be very effective, don't you think? sounds good, except you would have to ask Lucy or GC to do the signs, cause I am really confused in my Korean class.

If you're missing Kim Myung-min, (I mentioned this elsewhere) has anyone read/heard anything about the upcoming show "Seol 1945" starring him? At KBS it says it will air in 2006, but I have no idea when or if it's coming to the U.S. Here is the copied and pasted info I found:
(KBS) Seoul 1945 (airs: 2006) Cast: Ryoo Soo-young, Kim Myung-min, Soh Yoo-jin, Kim Ho-jin Summary to be posted... Episodes: 60 Official Site: KBS DVD: Not Released

thanks for the info, Choko ... I wish there was a story about the actual Japanese occupation of Korea .. did you read the book When My Name Was Keoko? Pre 1945
We need a great historical drama to help balance out the contemporary stuff. there's such a greater potential to actually learn something from the historical works. Sometimes during IYSS I would think about the old days... the VERY old days, when kids flocked to the theatre each saturday to see a continuing story.
In my imagination I try to think how exciting it would be to go to the theatre each Saturday and see 2 hours of IYSS. But in this 21st century it would never work . ... not politcally correct.

Thanks for correcting me, Choko. I had copied and pasted that from somewhere when I was looking up "upcoming" Korean dramas. I think "Seoul 1945" sounds interesting anyway, even if doesn't star the Immortally Adorable Admiral.

thanks for the info, Choko ... I wish there was a story about the actual Japanese occupation of Korea .. did you read the book When My Name Was Keoko? Pre 1945 I've never read the book. There have been so many Korean novels and TV dramas about the Japanese occupation period, so I was not interested in those time period. But after reading some reviews of the book at Amazon.com, I realized that the books looks like the real story of my parents. My mother's Japanese name was Keiko (not Keoko). My father who died 5 years ago spoke fluent Japanese because he was forced to learn the language in his childhood. Some of his uncles fled away to Manchuria to join a Korean resistance group while other uncles studied in a university in Japan. What an irony. Thank you for your recommendation. I will read the book some day. I think "Seoul 1945" sounds interesting anyway, even if doesn't star the Immortally Adorable Admiral. The immortally adorable admiral.... I love the expression. ;D

Alexa, Actor Yu Tae-woong who played Yi Young-nam in IYSS appeared as a vampire named "Casanova" in Korean sitcom "Hello, Franceska (MBC)" last week. He was so funny. I love his acting as a playboy vampire. ;D
