On November 24, 2005, Actor Kim Myoung-min (from "The Immortal Yi Soon-shin") won a "photogenic" award at the 6th Korea Visual Arts Festival, along with Actress Kim Seon-a (from "My name is Kim Sam-soon"). "I want to present this award to my colleagues: Producer Yi Seong-joo, IYSS staff, actors and actresses who had devoted themselves to IYSS series for about one and a half year." said Kim Myoung-min. The awards of Korea Visual Arts Festival are given to all kinds of visual arts such as movie, TV drama (soap opera), documentary film, sports broadcasting, entertainment show.

Honestly, after watching him portray Korea’s greatest Admiral for all these months, I would hardly have recognized Kim Myoung-min in that photo. I forget, I guess, that towards the end of IYSS, he was playing a character probably 20 years older than he really is. Regardless (even though I’m a guy) I have to admit that – with or without the beard - Mr. Kim is a handsome son-of-a-gun. And I just loved actress Kim Seon-a (a different “Kim” than Kim Myoung-min, I assume ) when she was playing the character “Sam-soon.” And, though she’s lost some weight from when she was playing the chubby Sam-soon character, I couldn’t help but notice that she’s showing off some pretty impressive (ahem!) cleavage for a Korean woman! ;D

i see Kim Myoung-min not only acts like Admiral Yi on film, but he's adopting his attitude --- not taking the glory for himself, but spreading it around to his "navy" ;D

I hope he also wins an award for his portrayal of Yi Soon Shin.
