KyungDaeDoo, thanks so much for organizing the get together, for having us all over and for the food. I had alot of fun and so did my friends. It was great to be able to share my love for K-dramas and my admiration for YSS with my friend Amy who only saw one episode of YSS. I think after her watching the last episodes and hearing everybody express their admiration for YSS, she was able to understand more why I enjoyed this drama so much. Anyways it was so nice to meet Bungalowdweller & family, Flowerlady, Ken & Joanie, and everybody else. I wish I would've gotten to talk more to people there, but before I knew it, alot of people were gone. (my friends and I sat on the first row to watch the drama and didn't notice when people started leaving.) KyungDaeDoo, if your Korean classmates ever feel like helping someone learn Korean, they can send me a message

Alexa, i think i led the exodus at 9:10 pm .. sorry Also, sorry i didn't get a chance to say hi! i'll make some more comments later...but this was a lot of fun...it was good to see new people, and especially fun that people were able to bring friends! My friend Jon was so astonished at much we love the dramas, and wanted to let his Korean-Americans friends know what's going on ..gotta run for now, but more comments soon. Thanks especially to KyungDaeDoo for the WONDERFUL set up. Let's do it again! (perhaps even just a social event -- have Bo & Ken & other talented people do some music, maybe have some conversation, etc.) --jp--

It was really wonderful seeing everyone - and we're still laughing at KDD's "cult" joke. It was a joke, wasn't it? Seriously, though, thanks so much for providing such a wonderful and friendly setting and the pizza and all the other food (thanks!) was great! MisterBill, Flowerlady, Bungalowdweller, JP, John, Jon, Liz, Gowdy, Alexa, KDD, Terry, Phyllis, Mike (it's a small world, isn't it?) and everyone else, hope to see you again. Maybe, we could watch the Great Jang-geum specials or something...

It was really a very nice party, and I enjoyed meeting everyone there (and putting a screen name with a face ). David, thank you SO VERY MUCH for organizing the party, providing the pizza, utilizing your church facilities and for all of the extras, too. Thank you to everyone who brought food to share with others, too. The setting was perfect, with the great screen, sound system and auditorium-type seating.... really nice for a viewing party such as for our IYSS wrap-up. I agree that another party would be great, similar in organization, with possibly some music & additional conversation, etc. Also, viewing the final episode/wrap shows of Dae Jang Geum or some other very popular drama might be a good idea.

I also recommend the first episode of AOW and EWG as a viewing stuff in another party. They stunned even Koreans like me with their impressive acting, writing & costumes. Especially without watching the first episode of AOW, you can not say that you really enjoyed AOW. I am sure it will blow you out, if you missed it. Several months ago, one of the members of Philadelphia historical group sent me two DVD discs containg the first & second episodes of AOW and the first episode of EWG (both English subtitled), and I still enjoy them from time to time on my DVD player.

The Viewing Party was just the best. As a Christian, cults are something to be avoided.... so KyungDaeDoo, we'll have to come up with another word. As I sat in that perfect space and looked around at the diverse gathering I was really awestruck to be a part of this very unique gathering. Next time we'll have to invite the folks from KBC
To think that a 'moment in history' ... well, several moments from 1592-1598 ... could bring out such passion in us 21st Century people says volumes for our respect for this Korean culture.
.... and how wonderful was it to meet the Korean students from Moody.... and that they confirmed the good Admiral's place in history.
I join with everyone in appreciation of your warm hospitality, KDD. You made each one of us feel welcomed.
Thanksgiving blessings to you and your family.

oh and Kathleen, thank you so much for the cool YSS bookmarks. I really liked it and so did my friend Monique. We are going to get them laminated as soon as we get a chance.

Ok,... Ok,... so 'cult' was a bit of a strong word. ;D (hehehe)
How about a movement? A grass roots movement to encourage the world to celebrate our diverse cultures rather than allowing them to divide us!
Anyone have an idea for a name?
I do like the idea of having another 'get together' and having more time to talk and mingle. I tried to tell everyone at the party to let me know if/when you want to do this again. I don't follow the more modern Korean shows - I really like the historical stuff. The idea of watching AOW episode 1 sounds cool to me since I didn't start watching AOW until about episode 100.

- APB for Chigirl and Nicopico! We really missed you ... and you must know by now that you missed a wonderful gathering. Great food, outstandingly diverse group ... To hell with Political Correctness ~ common sense, respect for others, respect for history.... no man-made-law can produce the deeply ingrained good habits... some of which we learned in Sunday School a few short years ago.

The Viewing Party was just the best. As a Christian, cults are something to be avoided.... DO you know how much of an oxymoron this statement is? Not to offend you or anything. Just want to teach you something about religion history. Christianity and islamic belief had its up bringing on a cult system, before fully being accepted. Both christianity and islam moved away from the original founding jewish faith system. (Judaism)
