the brief cameo of the arrow maker (the one who was describing various body parts that his arrows would pierce while unbeknownst to him the admiral was listening)
chung woo sung. i love all his moments (well except when his wife got killed)
when yi soon shin's dad scared the crap out of byung taek's dad, the magistrate, by jumping on top of the table and grabbing him by the collar
the introduction of the "what's in your wallet" helmet to wakizaka's haberdasher
first meeting "Mom" the rice ball making matron of the shipyard
watching the keobukson take some names in its first battle - Go Megura Bune!
dae man asking chungyang to hold his hand before his battle and then sung nam needing a piece of the action after seeing it worked
heck, watching all the soldiers' eyes light up anytime a new lady walks through the cholla navy headquarters
during the battle of jin ju when all the soldiers thought their moms and wives had all left, they all showed up still in men's clothes with all these rocks, saying, "We'll get you as many rocks as you need."
seeing the archfiend's brat #1 in a heroic role as the commander of jin ju fort
the fact that wakizaka brings a cat on board his ship
everytime wakizaka gets slapped and then screwed over by the chicks he digs

yeah, but wakizaka playing hacky sac with his cat was starting to become distracting
another fav moment: any time kim wan opens his mouth
i especially love the time he was teasing chung oon about seeing off won kyun
"you look like a sad bride seeing off her new groom. sigh, right kyungsang navy or left cholla navy? high commander yi or high commaner won? this way or that way? what to do what to do?"

Oh man I think I have alot of favorite moments from this drama, but they are so many. I think most of my favorite moments have involved the scenes where YSS is giving a speech to the Navy or talking to one of the soldiers. His words are so powerful and meaningful, its no surprise people followed him. I'm trying to think of some things that he has said but my mind is drawing a blank right now. I should've wrote them down when I heard them.

I think most of my favorite moments have involved the scenes where YSS is giving a speech to the Navy or talking to one of the soldiers Oh yes, definetly the speeches. This guy was so good in motivation. One of my fav ones were before they were gonna fight the japanese, everyone was thinking they were demons from hell or something. Yi Soon-Shin acquired one of their muskets and was gonna shoot someone. They guy started running for the hills and Yi Soon-Shin shot him but to the soldier's suprise, he wasn't shot at all. Yi Soon-Shin explained that the muskets only go 50 yards and was the soldiers own fear that struck him down. I love that.

20: That's my favorite speech too!
VIB: It took a little while to get used to Kim Wan, but now I couldn't imagine the show without him.
My personal list of most memorable moments:
Bandits jumping the "defenseless old man with a big stick" and young YSS coming to the "rescue" The floating lantern scene from the siege of Jinju The kitchen ladies oohing and ahhing over Yi Yong-nam "Mom" giving Na Dae-yong the idea of putting spikes on the turtle ship Kim Wan's great escape Kim Wan convincing Uh Yong-dam to return to the navy
Some of these memorable moments weren't as light-hearted ...
Yi Yong-nam's death in Episode 4 The final farewell to Chung Un YSS's mother and Nalbal on the boat Accused cannibal begging to be put to death

Those are all wonderful scenes, but I have to agree with 20 about my very favorite--the scene where YSS gets the soldiers to shoot at each other so they'll know the Japanese are human, not demons. Excellent.
Oh, okay, that scene with the kitchen ladies and doctor lady oohing and ahing over Yi Yong-nam was pretty cute.

Oh, okay, that scene with the kitchen ladies and doctor lady oohing and ahing over Yi Yong-nam was pretty cute. Bo That made me so jealous! hmmph. My favorite scene has to be when Yi fearlessly boards the Gurujima's ship and starts mowing down those ------ He was quite irate--he was one pissed admiral!!! You could tell by his eyes. And his battle with Gurujima. With the music roaring in the background, Yi has flash backs of his brave men who died against the nomads, and I think, the Chosunese who were murdered and harassed by the Japanese, and his vow to never be defeated again. His memories stirred something within him. Then, Yi finishes Gurujima with one strike. He was a savage raccoon in that episode.

I agree with everything you all have listed so far, but I just have to add...
The Jurchen invasion, especially YSS capturing the Jurchen leader(if I remember correctly, without loosing a single man)...
And the first time we see Yi Young Nam. You get a good idea of just what kind of man he is right from the beginning. (Won Kyun was so mean to him!)

Yi Young nam's death scene was poignant. He told YSS how much he greatly admired the admiral. But when YSS began to clothe Young nam with his armor to show how in YSS eyes that he is a worthy admiral himself, Young nam tries to stop him. What a moment!!

--Looking back and trying to recollect my favorite scenes........there were so many. My favorites are all of those which illustrate enduring loyalty---to country, to friend, to fellow soldier, to family, to personal ideals and strength of principles. I love(d) this drama so much! ----I am starting to feel the twinges of YSS Withdrawal setting in already. There are only 3 episodes left.-Aigu! Again, another great drama that I admit to getting emotionally attached to! I will REALLY miss this show.

eh... hmm... let's see... When YSS kicked the Jurchen's tribes butt. The scene where Won Kyun and Yi Myon died (not good moments, they were touching. favorite moments are not always happy moments.) lemme see... when YSS said to the royal messenger "if we are traitors for loving our country and defending it from invaders, then by god, we are traitors!" lol. um... everytime YSS gives a speech. there are more, but that's all for now.

My favorite scenes are... * Kwon Jun, the puppy. LOL (Ep. 54) * Any moment Yi Sun-shin shoots a bow. (In particular, at the battle of Okpo, Ep.61) * When Captain Jung Woon opened his mind to bullet-wounded YSS. (At the battle of Sacheon, Ep.68) * Before the battle of Hansan island, YSS was writing his war diary and thought "The enemy knows me. Now I need another me they do not know" (Ep. 73) * The cannon balls embroidering the sky (At the battle of Hansan, Ep. 74) * Yi Young-nam's coup against Won Kyun (Ep. 75) * Yu Sung-in's sad smile in front of the Jinju castle gate. (Ep. 79) * The death of Kim Shi-min (The battle of Jinju castle, Ep. 80) * When Crown prince Gwang-hae visited Hansan isalnd, YSS was doing farm work with farmers and Nalbal. (Ep. 81) * The words YSS shouted to Ma Young-gap (the humble oarsman) just before the military examination in Hansan island. (Ep. 84) "Fight! Fight with the prejudice! Do not yield to the world... and to yourself!" My eyes got wet with tears unconsciously when I heard the words. * The scene YSS gave Yi Young-nam his sword(Jigwa) before being arrested. (Ep. 88) A few episodes later, Young-nam gave another sword to YSS. (Ep. 95) * During the torture scene, YSS told Yun Du-su "Why are you afraid of the people? They are not your enemy. If you have the people for your enemy, this country can not be saved." * After being released, on the way to join the army as a common soldier. " For 40 days in prison, I have wondered... if the world looks the same as previous after I get out of the cell?" (Ep. 90) * The most powerful scene I think. (Ep. 90)

One of the good scenes was during the battle where Lt. Ma dies because his superior is such a coward and Lt Ma exposes himself to enemy fire. The shocked look on the captain's (I don't know his real rank) face, the steely resolve FINALLY coming into him, it was well done. He couldn't be roused by words, but the death of his leutenant made him realize what he had to do.
