Hi, guys--I just heard about this. I haven't been watching YSS but have regretted it for a long time. I never thought it would be worth it to try to catch up. But now I'm curious: what are these recap episodes? It is not clear from the info here. Are they recaps of the whole series? Thanks Lucy. I changed the title of the thread to be more clear. One show is a talk show type with interviews and the other is a documentary on the real Yi Soon shin You can see Choko's posts in this thread

As for ideas, cafetacbva plans to bring something (I am assuming food). I'm not sure how much room you have there but if anyone else want s to bring a little something may be nice. Just a thought. What do you think?

I was thinking about bringing a dessert, like cake or cookies. If anyone here has any favorites they'd like me to bring then let me know.

Did someone say cookies? Cake? This is getting better by the minute! We have plenty of room so bring all the food you wish. We do not have a stove, but we do have a great microwave.
I did a test run of recording an episode and for some reason my vcr had faint red lines diagonally. Our reception is perfect, so it must be my vcr. Is anyone else able to get good quality tapes?
I'll be trying to tweak ours to see if I can get it better, but it might be a good idea if several of us taped the recap episodes to make sure we get good copies. What do you guys think?

KDD let me add my thanks to you for providing what sounds like a perfect place for this wonderful event. What EVER are we going to do when IYSS comes to an end? To keep the spirit alive perhaps we could consider having an annual birthday gathering for him. I think he was born on 4/28/1545 ... maybe this is a sappy idea ... I know how sad I felt when DaeJangGeum came to a close. anyway, count me in for appetizer type stuff.

just in case you missed my post regarding the significance of 11/19 ... Quoting fro WIKIPEDIA: "On November 19, 1598, Admiral Yi was shot during the final battle of the war when he attacked retreating Japanese remnants at horyang. He is said to have asked his son to cover up his body with a large shield and keep on fighting. Our significance of our gathering on 11/19 cannot be overlooked. This date was chosen for the majority... and the coincidence is very cool.

People that watch this show come from different backgrounds and different nationalities, so your stepdad shouldn't be embarrassed. And just so you know, I am Mexican as well
