:'(Just watched the episodes with Chung throwing himself on top of a cannonball and getting killed At first I didn't like him, he seemed so arrogant, never agreeing with YSS. But as time went by, he finally understood YSS's beliefs and hopes, and he gained respect in my eyes. I cried when he was killed

Yeah, this is the forum to go to if you want to talk about Yi Soon shin for both the TV series and historical fact. =) Too bad the Philly fans couldn't join us earlier. I'm from NY and it ended around the same time as Chicago.

Thanks Hey, normalabaylis51, I notice you have put up one of his sijos (korean poem) by the admiral. In a nutshell, it describes the state of his heart.... Here's another one: On this moonlight night on Hansan Isle, I sit alone in the watch tower. Great sword worn on the side, I feel weighed down by worries. From somewhere the sad note of a pipe rends my heart. Yi, Sun-sin (1545 - 1598)

;DWow! Thank you so much for the poem.I hadn't seen that one before!I love the whole history of YSS!We all need a hero,no matter what country they come from,we need a hero and I have found mine! thank you again well I don't remember everything, but as I read your posts, certain things come back to me. This was truly my favorite Korean drama of all. I wished I remembered more details so that I could post more here, but I don't. You'll just have to remind me of some of the stuff. Anyways there are ALOT of sad parts in this drama, and I have to say I cried more then once, but I still loved it. I loved the man that YSS was and learned so much from watching this show. Seriously, I don't think I've ever learned so much from a drama (American or any other) as I have from this one. My favorite scenes are when YSS gives speeches, they are just so encouraging. ah I miss this show oh and Norma, do not peek ahead. It's better to just watch the show as it goes on w/o looking at any spoilers. oh and one more thing Kim Wan was one of my favorite characters (okay I had alot of favorite characters) he always made me laugh.

I MISSED the whole Young-nam/Nalbal attack (pledge drive time change threw me off again!)-- and those Nalbal fight scenes are my favorite!! Especially because most of the time we see Nalbal just standing behind YSS looking at the ground. Did they spearhead the attack together? Or was Young-nam in charge?

;DIt was both of them and they snuck{is that a word?} up on DODO and the guys with the cannons and got them all.I never seen YI-youngnam fight like that.He was great and of course Nalbal was too.Yi-youngnam talents are wasted with Won-kyun that is for sure ;D

Unfortunately there are no historical dramas in Chicago right now wait, is that the scene where Dodo and his men are up on a mountain with cannons, ready to aim them at the passing ships?

;DYes it was!!Boy you got a good memory. 8-)I will probably be the same way.Yi-youngnam sent Dodo rolling down the hill.It was right before Chung threw himself on the cannonball. The last episode I seen Fri. was when the recruits were at the fort as reinforcments and the Commander {who played the archfeinds mean son} couldnt open the gate to let them in so they just charged into the millon of Japanese.I guess the show Thurs is going to be a little rough as they show the aftermath of that.I really enjoy talking with you!!!

:(Episode 80 was another sad one. Those poor people at the fort put up a heck of a fight I tell ya! When the Commander sent all the women, kids and old people out the back for safety and they all came back with rocks to use on the Japanese, that was heartbreaking. And that Ming guy telling YSS and men to let the japanese sail by without fighting them, yeah right,Yss will be in trouble again cause no way are they going to sit back and do nothing. And the wimpy king sending Won Kyun a secret letter,we all know nothing good will come of that

It was heartbreaking. The whole fighting scene reminded me of Lord of the Rings, the second movie. That had to be one of my favorite episodes. the people put up a really good fight. And its more amazing to think that it really happened. By the way, HAPPY EASTER!!!
